    Best Pro Tools tutorial and explanation I’ve ever seen. Truly.

    Nice video. My favorite key commands that were missed:
    Num7 and 8 on the keypad turn on Metronome and Count in.
    Option + num 1, 2, or 3 to turn on time tempo and event operations windows (for example to insert or cut time)
    Control + option + num+ or num- keys to increase or decrease grid size in grid mode.
    Cheers!

      And one more:
      option + command + G while selecting multiple audio regions to create a grouped clip.
      Learned a few new ones from this thanks so much for the video dude!!

    cmd+spacebar for recording is pre-empted by Mac Spotlight... can override with Shift+Cmd+spacebar.

      Thanks... another amazing one is Control/Option then use arrow up or down to increase track height. That was my "super detective work" moment.
      What I can't figure out is where regular old "fast forward" or "rewind" is...and why is that so hard? Any thoughts? I'm on regular 12.4, not HD (so like, HD and you can Fast forward, I don't understand that mentality). Thanx again.

    You can actually remove any type of marker from the marker window (cmd+5) by alt left-clicking it in the marker window. No need to change marker types anymore :-)

      @@AllisonBonner-jq9be if that's an option for you. I'm on PC myself, so some things may not translate the same. I believe if you option right click, it does the same thing.

    there is a way to move de waveform, but not the clip. I dont remember it. Do you know that ?
    Thanks for this video ! its very very useful.
    My favourite is of course the last ... select all, an consolidate very quikly !, and then clean the clip section with - shift cmd U - shift cmd B - and delete all !!!!!!

      I think cmd+opt and scroll wheel or cmd and shift. I'm not sure, I know them intuitively without knowing what I press these days, but you can probably find it in this guide.

      There are no shortcuts in recording, your room, your mics your gear all interact to give you a unique result. This is what happened in my room with my mics and gear, but at least now you know how to use the tools I have shown you to maximise your results.

    • @SPLMixing
      @SPLMixing  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! Unfortunately, I only have the Pro Tools Native (middle paid tier) option myself, so I can't say for sure. Maybe it's a non-issue in PT First and so my advice would be to just test and see if it works. Sorry I cannot be of any more help!

    Very nice explaining, Thank you so much. I am on a MacBook Pro 13” mid 2012 and I am not sure about keypad shortcuts? Do you know something about that?

    • @SPLMixing

      @@SPLMixing Ofcourse, Sorry dumb question, What I really meant, was: the shortcuts are a bit different on my MacBook than on other Mac’s isent that right ?

    • @SPLMixing
      @SPLMixing  Před 3 lety

      I'm not sure about that, to be honest, as I am working on a Windows 10 PC. I made two versions of this video, one pc, one mac, with different audio and visuals for each. I had some close friends verify the Mac shortcuts in the video using a Mac book Pro laptop that was a few years old using the latest Pro Tools version. I imagine that you should be able to use them too. Download the pdf and give it a go?
