I grew up with the DIC dub in the 2000s. I’m so grateful that Viz Media redubbed this series. It’s nice to have the entire series released in America after all these years
I’ve watched the series when I was a kid, too.
I watch Sailor Moon when I was a kid too when it’s just DIC and Cloverway Dub and now I like Viz Media redubbed more
What do you mean after "all these years"? They released all of Sailor Moon around 10 years ago. They're just releasing it again with better picture quality.
@@omegashenron8 Not Sailor Stars! It was just finished in 2019 if I’m not mistaken. I’m actually disappointed in the picture quality. They washed out all the details. I wish they had just used the Italian dvd masters, and then like dragon boxed those for the Blu-Ray release or something. I bet AI could have done a better job lol. Nevertheless, I’m glad we got an uncut finished english dub! :)
@@Mmbwdpnz The newest Blu-Ray release this year uses much better quality than the older Viz release, not perfect but I think this is the best we're getting :/

@@hoppinggnomethe4154 well, the DIC sounds even weirder, plus naming Usagi Serena, Makoto, Lita, Naru Molly, and others, have been quite uncomfortable.
I know about the controversy over foreign dubs, plus this is a personal opinion, but honestly, Viz is nothing compared to DIC.

This is one of my favorite moments from the classic 1990's Sailor Moon anime. The Viz Media dub is perfect while the other dubs are fun only for meme purposes. Viz Media has the actual names and keeps everything of the original creators while other dubs change it. I think the other dubs are more of a funny official fan translation while the Viz Media dub is fun and respectful to the source material. Cool video. ^_^
If you see 0:03-0:07, you'll see that the reason why Makoto was able to safely cut the carrots at a fast pace was because she was using a fist to push the carrot. However, Minako had her hand spread out wide while pushing. This obviously makes it easier to cut yourself. It goes without saying that cutting an extended finger is a lot easier than knuckles.

Love how you said "another Usagi". Basically, if you put them in the same clothes and gave them the same hairstyles, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart. While Usagi has brighter skin and is slightly shorter, people like me would have to look closely to really see it. I haven't watched over 50% of Sailor Moon episodes (I got into this a year before this reply was posted), so I'm not sure if they ever twinned or switched clothes. But I'd love to see the result.

Minako’s should be careful for what she’s doing.
One thing that she did that was extremely dangerous was sticking out her fingers while pushing the carrot at the blade (look around 0:04). Pro chefs actually cut at faster speeds, and they usually push with a fist (as Makoto is doing at 0:02). For pretty obvious reasons, it is easier to cut a finger than a knuckle, meaning that Makoto's hand positioning is safer.

Parts of this scene were used in the DIC ending of "SAILOR MOON SAYS" like chopping with the knife. And when Amy and Ray rush in with Luna as Shield, DURING THE CURRY COOKING episode with Rini at the food store, with 2 of the Weird Sisters Avery and Prisma, and their monster girl Avacado....plus when Mars was riding standing up in the shopping cart 🛒 🛍 .
