    I have a question: As the 380 model is practically the same, could these be upgraded engine wise to a 380cc? Would be very practical to future proof vehicles as new riders would stick with company then. Works for both parties really. Would be a fantastic selling point. Would give massive leverage over rival's.

    Dont understand why not give this bike a nice motor with 15cv!

    • @hiyadroogs
      @hiyadroogs Před 5 lety

      Price point. A 15 bhp engine would require a 4 valve head, water cooling, high compression ratio, & higher rpm. Lexmoto's selling point is not ultimate performance from a given capacity, but affordability & accessibility. There is a good reason why Japanese 15 bhp 125's are £2000 more expensive! !2 bhp can work its way eventually to a genuine 65 mph by gps in dead flat road still air conditions. !5 bhp can achieve a genuine 70 mph in perfect conditions. But dead flat roads & still warm air are pretty rare, especially in the UK. Forget what the speedo claims. An 11 bhp Benelli TNT 125 speedo claimed 114 kmh at the rev limiter, (71.5 mph) the gps beside it confirmed 101 kmh, (63.1 mph) I believe the satellite.The question then becomes; are you prepared to spend another £2000 for an extra rarely attained 5 mph over a 12 horse motor, when once you've passed your test, you have access to much larger engine capacities? As a 17-18 year old, what might you prefer to spend that 2 grand on?

    • @ubbgn

      @@hiyadroogs Really, tech didnt evolved enough to get a 14/15hp engine?

    • @hiyadroogs
      @hiyadroogs Před 5 lety

      @@ubbgn It isn't about whether or not the technology is available to produce the power.. it is about whether you are prepared to pay for it. Lower powered engines for a given capacity are cheap, the most powerful engines are expensive. Why would manufacturers put in thousands of hours of development costs & millions of pounds of investment to squeeze another 3 BHP out of an already high output engine capacity, just for you to pay peanuts for it? That's partly why Chinese scooters & motorbikes are so cheap. They generally use 20 year old Japanese engine designs & research like the ancient Honda GY6 engine to power their scooters, because it saves them development costs. So you pay £1500 for a 7 hp scooter that would cost you £2800 from Japan. 12 hp from a single cylinder 125 four stroke is a really good power output. It only seems disappointing to you because the most advanced Japanese engines can now squeeze out 15 & still comply with euro 4. But to put it into perspective, a 350 cc Enfield single makes only 18 BHP. Almost 3 times the capacity yet only one third more power than a Chinese 125.

    • @hiyadroogs
      @hiyadroogs Před 5 lety

      @@ubbgn if the 18 bhp 350cc Enfield were down sized to 125 in the same tune, it would make 6.43 BHP. Not bad at all this LXR 125 at almost double the power eh?
