Celebrating 100 years of Disney brought me tears & joy for all of us Disney fans past & present.When I first watched Wish,it brought me joy,happiness,laughter,tears,and so much tears to see the connection of Disney past & present film references all put together in one film as a tribute to how much we love & adore Disney so much!
When we were all children,we watched Disney films that changed our hearts & opened our eyes to new experiences we haven’t seen before,even when we wished upon stars.Now that we’re grown,we still have wishes in our hearts that glow brighter in us.And this film inspired us Disney fans to be who we are today.
The song "I'm a star": Star came down and is able to animate everything it touches. Asha asks "how?". The song gives you the answer; we are all made of stardust. Early in the universe there were only space and stars. These stars age then finally explode "=Supernova". The material it explodes condenses to make planets and everything on them. So, scientifically, we are all made of "stars"; we are all made of the same thing which is why Star can animate anything.
the song answers the question "How's Star able animate everything?": rephrasing the lyrics: Have you ever wondered why you look up to the sky for answers?.... You don't have to look too hard, cause you're a star, I'm a star, we're all stars... When it comes to the Universe, we're all shareholders; get that through your system solar. We eat the leaves and they eat the sun "Photosynthesis" This will sink in the morning: we're all our origin story. The turtle's part was my favorite: "See we're all just little nebulae in a nursery From supernovas now we've grown into our history We're taking why's right out of mystery, closure Now we're taking in.All the star exposure".
The song "You're A Star" means you don't have to wish upon a star to make your wishes comes true because we're all apart of the universe which means we all have that magic inside us. We are all stars which means we all have that power inside of us to make our own wishes and dreams come true. We don't need outside forces to make things happen we have it within ourselves to make things happen that is what is explaining.
I absolutely loved this movie!! I think it's a great call to animation both present and past styles, and what a great way to honor some of the past movies and characters.
Don’t want to be a party pooper… but I really disliked this movie. It’s not just the broken record of “it’s bad because it is just corporate slop”, I think it was genuinely a poorly made and written movie.
While I can understand why a lot of people might not like this movie, I personally really enjoyed it. It’s not perfect, but it’s not the worst movie I’ve ever seen
You guys don't get the song:I'm a star?Why it's simply and logical.It's like a magic explanation of the energy pyramid as the sun which is also a star itself gives it's "magic" energy to the plants,animals or people eat plants and get half of the energy of the sun that plants get or absorb energy through our bodies since our birth,and the sun gives everything for life to exist,we're basically made with little bit of the star of our solar system,magically metaphoricly making us all 🌟 🌟 🌟 s that's why the animals say we look up at the stars for awnsers,we all have little bit of stardust made into us!You have be an animal lover and science nerd to understand it right away.
Good explanation; that's exactly what I was thinking of. But although I am a huge fan of the movie, that was one of the few parts I was not terribly keen on. The elements of the universe were indeed made through fusion in stars and all the objects in the universe were made from the atoms of these elements, including living things, but just because we are made of stardust, it does not make us stars, not even metaphorically in my opinion. We can have the magic and spiritual powers of stars as Wish suggests but we are not stars. Planets are made of stardust but they are not stars, they are planets. Moons and asteroids are also made of stardust but they are not stars. Living things are also made of stardust but they are not stars. We are not star, we just originate from particles made in stars. I like the bouncy tune of the song and I applaud it for teaching kids the concept of elements made in stars in a way that can be understood at a young age but let's not overdo it. And I understand that many people find the idea of supposedly looking up to stars because they are connected to them patronising. No, people don't just look up to stars because they feel connected to them because they are made of the same material, otherwise we would also be gazing into water, air, earth and pretty much anything where those elements can be found and we get them from directly. Some people are just star gazers or astrologists who try to read the future in stars, others look at the sky for general religious/spiritual reasons others are astronomers or other scientists. It reminded me of that nonsense from Toy Story 4 where Forky was trying to fall into dustbins because he was made of rubbish and therefore felt connected to it (but did not feel connected to crude oil since that is the raw material the plastic he was made of). In fact, according to Wish, Forky should be trying to get to space because he is also made of stardust.

The movie is meant to be the very first Disney movie in the Disney universe timeline because Asha was the very first person to ever wish upon a star before anyone else will start wishing on stars
According to the art book, Asha was conceived as the first Disney heroine to ever wish upon a star but this should not be taken too literally. She definitely precedes Cinderella, Aurora, Gepetto or Tiana but there are other Disney movies that take place before Wish, including Aladdin, Hercules, Mulan, Sword in the Stone, the Black Cauldron, Moana and Dinosaur. And not all Disney movies are set in the same universe. Aladdin and Hercules are because of that one crossover episode of the Hercules TV series connecting them but Hunchback of Notre Dame and Pocahontas are obviously not set in the same universe as Hercules and neither is Fantasia judging from the different design of the ancient greek gods. And of course movies like Zootopia, Lion King and Robin Hood are also set in non-human universes.

I absolutely have no clue what is wrong with this movie. People are hating on Wish left and right, yet it’s pretty decent enough. It rightfully earned its place on the Disney Animated Features Canon. If anything, the songs themselves are the redeeming qualities of it. The story isn’t perfect, but lead heroine Asha is a princess worthy of being alongside the Disney Princesses before her.

Asha asking, why not return the wishes that you have no intention on granting, so they can work toward there wish. He explode in anger. And punishes her whole family. When the golden light of Star washed over the kingdom, he reacted in anger to it. What would happen if Star went strait to the castel where all the wishes was being kept, how would Manfico reacted to Star trying to free the wishes?

I recently learned that the reason it looks so cheap is because they turned the motion blur off in this movie to honor the movies made in Walt’s days. I feel like it’s a good tribute to Disney’s 100 years.
I personally LOVED this animation because its something totally different and unique that we haven't seen before. Something new always gets hate. Just look at history. In 50 years time this is gonna be seen as AMAZING animation.

I don’t care what the critics say, I really love this movie. Sure it’s not Disney’s best but it’s still great. I liked the animation, the songs, and the main character, Asha. I seen this movie twice. One where it got released and the other on New Year’s Eve and it was still great.
The reason its incomplete is because They had a lot of ideas they had to get rid of at the last minute Because they were mad about making people angry. Originally both the king and queen We're gonna be evil and ash was gonna be their daughter but they were afraid of parents accusing disney of vilifying parents. Then there's the star which was Is originally going to be a love interest for asha Because he had the ability to turn human. But they were afraid of a lawsuit from Neil gaiman because it was like Stardust. They were trying to play it safe. As for the king, there's a possible theory that his family were not good. People and those thieves were actually the people were bolting against his family.
Note Starboy last I heard was going to be like the young spirit of Asha’s dead grandpa and given how Asha’s dead father taught her about guidance from the stars Star themself has the familial connection there
Also as far as vilifying parents if you consider Lady Tremaine not being mother of the year to her OWN daughters as well as Cinderella and Zira’s treatment of her kids in the lion king sequel that ship has sailed

If adopted, what would possess them to adopt a child if they're both evil? If kidnapped, why kidnap Asha? And if both the king and queen are evil and are vanquished or other who's going to run the kingdom? Especially since Asha is a bit young and she and her family prob wouldn't really want the throne for themselves.

To explain the "I'm a Star" song, it was basically saying we are all made and cinnected by dust (aka star dust) which is how the main character was able to connect to star all the way in the sky when she made her wish and how she is also a star as well technically

I saw the movie twice. The first time in the cinema and the second one at home, it's okay i mean not the worst movie but not the biggest movie i have ever seen nighter
While I appreciate the reaction. This was a bit painful to watch. Cuz y'all didn't get so much of the film. But there was so much talking through so many parts of the movie. 😭 It's not a surprise. Y'all need to rewatch in private. The movie had such important messages. It's all there if you PAY ATTENTION 😅 I absolutely loved this film. I saw 3 times in theaters. It's fantastic! But I will admit it may not be a TOP Disney film.
I’ve seen a few deleted or alternate scenes that were storyboarded, but never made the cut. If some of them did make it in the final film, then we’d get an entirely different story being told.
Hii Galaxy Geeks I’m a huge fan by the way I love your movie reactions so much, Disney wish its amazing and inspiring at the same time, but I need to see the movie so bad.
To see an alternate universe mode version of this movie if the scrapped content was made! Just to know what it would have been like in another timeline!
This was a passable film that felt like they could have spent more time developing it into something great. Even “Ruby Gillman” had that feel, though I think Ruby’s story worked much better than this in a number of areas. Even the music feels like someone trying to copy the Disney formula, but not getting why those songs worked. The credits song felt like an insincere version of “What Was I Made For” from Barbie.

I think that song you said you didn’t get is trying to say that everyone, all life, is connected, and all as special as each other, and we all come from the same place and go to the same place. That’s what I got from it.

To explain the "I'm a Star" song, it was basically saying we are all made and cinnected by dust (aka star dust) which is how the main character was able to connect to star all the way in the sky when she made her wish and how she is also a star as well technically

I guess so, to me it just seems to not connect to the story as a whole. Those other two songs narratively helps tell the story better.

I saw the movie twice.
The first time in the cinema and the second one at home, it's okay i mean not the worst movie but not the biggest movie i have ever seen nighter
Its a decent movie. Its great for children. Not so much for older kids and higher.
The star reminds me of the stars i see stitched on the mickey mouse faced teddy bears Disney sold long ago.

While I appreciate the reaction. This was a bit painful to watch. Cuz y'all didn't get so much of the film. But there was so much talking through so many parts of the movie. 😭 It's not a surprise. Y'all need to rewatch in private. The movie had such important messages. It's all there if you PAY ATTENTION 😅 I absolutely loved this film. I saw 3 times in theaters. It's fantastic! But I will admit it may not be a TOP Disney film.
I’ve seen a few deleted or alternate scenes that were storyboarded, but never made the cut. If some of them did make it in the final film, then we’d get an entirely different story being told.
Great animation and songs. They could have expanded on the king a bit, but overall I enjoyed this movie.

This was a passable film that felt like they could have spent more time developing it into something great. Even “Ruby Gillman” had that feel, though I think Ruby’s story worked much better than this in a number of areas.
Even the music feels like someone trying to copy the Disney formula, but not getting why those songs worked. The credits song felt like an insincere version of “What Was I Made For” from Barbie.
It was pretty mid, not as bad as i thought it would be, but too many references toke out its originality...
