    I'm glad to see Kahneman getting the recognition he deserves. I picked up his book a few days ago, and it's fascinating!

    Dear Matt, Akash here from Kellogg now back in the working world. So nice to watch you again. Indeed every bit very valuable to developing our skills. Recently in a casual chat at work place I picked up on a Top Hat saying "Oh his/her capabilities do not match their ambition". I wonder what your thoughts are on such semantics.

      Hi Akash, I hope you're well. Thanks for your comment!
      Sometimes there will be a mismatch between abilities and ambition. I once wanted to fly planes, but I'm half blind, so can't even drive! But when it comes to thinking skills, whilst some people may be 'gifted' with natural acuities, they may take these for granted, and those without such gifts can be way more committed, hard working, and therefore achieve more. I suspect that many people talk themselves down.

    Sir could you please do a video explining written work required for application and what kind of teacher comments and markings you expect? Actually, I am from India and here we don't really have essays assigned so I would be grateful for your guidance on how to tackle sending the written work.

      Thanks for your comment. It's very difficult to give general advice on these matters, because it depends on the course you are applying to. You are, however, able to obtain advice from the college you apply to, and the relevant department. That's the best way to proceed.

    Thanks for making this kind of videos. It would be better to write down this lecture in a book or some slides.

    Overall, could you recommend classes that are available for the very sake of discussion not direction?

    • @JesusCollegeOxford1571
      @JesusCollegeOxford1571  Před rokem +1

      Discussion rather than direction is the way we orient our tutorials in Oxford. So I can recommend those! Otherwise, I'm not aware of good online discussion forums, but if you know of any please let me know.

    Undermine? The word that stops me is, intuitive. Rebecca Hall challenged it. Unfortunately, I think she’s correct. That said, we won’t arrive at fluid like Bruce Lee, instinctive, without Roisin Murphy, slow and deliberate.

    • @HeIsNakedLunch
      @HeIsNakedLunch Před rokem +1

      By this I mean.
      Can we be fluid without being slow and deliberate, first?
