(Expedition Tiger, 2018)
Join the first ever expedition to venture high into the Himalayas in search of big cats. Closed to outsiders for years, Bhutan is a forgotten world. No one knows how many tigers prowl the jungles and mountains here, but if the rumours of a healthy population are true, it will give credence to a proposed 2000-mile long 'tiger conservation corridor': an ambitious project that would allow the last remaining big cats to move freely between Burma, India and Nepal.

Not sure which is more beautiful: the tigers or how much this man cares about them. I love this.
When he started crying you know how passionate he is about his expedition thats TRUE PASSION RIGHT THERE
can’t agree with you more
What. Lionpigs here
@@Dhruv-Kumar what?
when he started crying it was as if he just saw a family member alive after he thought that family member died in a war long ago. you rarely see a man cry over something, his compassion for tigers is really a sight to see.
This is why men cry at the right times not all the time
Yes that passion for tigers is so compelling. He's definitely living his dream job. I'd love to be doing that! Especially he's contributing to new scientific findings, how cool is that!!
I hope we get more updates on this and maybe even a mini series captivating their existence. I wonder if any more tigers could be introduced to this region or just laws being created to protect what's already living here.
I think it is reasonable to protect and research what is already living there. May be there are more living there.
I agree that we should get more updates on this, so we can know if they find cubs, or if the pair breeds because of the current state of the tiger population.
It’s old I found video in CZcams before 11 years
@@l... really..wow..thought it is new...
Yes! I'd love this
we need more footages of the tigers in the himalayas. such a wonderful sight to see.
Above 4000 m is roughly 13150 ft. In CA, that is way above the timberline. It is amazing the high Himalayas still have many trees and vegetation at this elevation.
It is, and it looks somehow humid too. Maybe because it is generally highland areas and not volcanoes slopes.
Well having been there many times I can say above 4000m things start changing quite a bit. Below that the Himalayas are lush green dense forests, however as you can see here it’s mostly small trees, shrubs etc. More Higher up it pretty much becomes barren.
And tigers are here. Bengal tigers also live in snow like siberian

I wonder if it is less atm or too cold. Plants in general don't do well up there. If we have plants that can thrive in that kind of environment, maybe they can survive on Mars.
@@benthekeeshond545 No this is how it is, infact it becomes even spares are barren very quickly after this altitude. Idk why they don’t grow, if it’s the cold or something else.
This is exciting to watch. I can’t imagine the joy of watching that tiger in that height. The excitement and emotion is priceless. Thank you, thank you for sharing! Sharing the emotion and knowledge I gain from this channel is also priceless! 😊😍
Joy will be more if tiger starts watching you
Absolutely amazing that Tigers are living at 13,000 feet! 🐅
Oh! wow, he brought me to tears.... 💕Tigers in the Himalayas!! 🐯👀
what a wonderful surprising moment, - and we could be part of it!
Thank you so much for sharing it! would be a great pleasure to see mor of this expedition.....💛
I didn't know Bengal Tigers could live in such cold. Truly wonderful animals.
I wish everyone else felt exactly like he did just by seeing the tiger and I can only imagine he wants him as protected as possible. Wish people thought the same way.
I live in the Himalayas of uttarakhand, India. Only seen and heard of leopard but 'tigers .,its gracious.!
Wow, this is such a positive development.. very happy to see this, great job!
Tigers are ultimate survivors and can live in many different habitats if they are let to do so
I can understand his emotions. I love animals.
There is just no other way of saying how amazing tigers are.
I respect his dedication and love to protect the tigers. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Magnificent tigers looking for safe places to survive.
Amazing. I am glad to see they are able to live in such a high place.
“Their great!”
No way! Amazing and beautiful to see. Really hope we can do much better on reversing habitat destruction and creating huge animal corridors in the future. And thank you BBC for all your amazing work. You spearhead these causes at your own expense for the world.
Check on Jim Corbett National Park.
Exciting, and encouraging news!
Clicked for Gordon Buchanan. What an amazing photographer and such a captivating voice! Loved him ever since I watched all of his Animal Family and Me series.
Very good but I think he sometimes pushes his luck with danger. See his wolf documentary
Excellent videos you shoot & your passion for this is also commendable👍👍👍
Great job
Thank you!!
A three year camera trap survey in Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary showed up 42 images of 11 tigers in the snow-clad Mishmi hills of Arunachal Pradesh state , India
WOW PURELY REMARKABLE & MAGICAL! THEIR FORMIDABLE ANIMALS. THEY'RE THRIVING & THAT'S WONDERFUL!
Please give us more updates xx
His passion is honestly very heart warming✨
I AM HERE TO SCARE YOU STRAIGHT:)
I'd cry too, if I ever saw a tiger living free!
Beautiful just Beautiful!
I'd imagine it'd be quite challenging to function while being very intoxicated as a tiger, trying to survive.
Magnificent
so great to see
Awesome it is... No words can describe. Thanks to mother nature 🙏
Such devotion and dedication ♥️
I can feel your excitement great work keep up the great work I know you don't hear it all the time your work keeps is closer to Nature and allows us to understand how important nature is to us all

Two Legends
Well that’s cool to see a overwhelmed Scottish fella pleased so much for the natural world.Bravo!
He is the best example of a modern day Yogi.
We have recently captured images of possibly two tigers at Sikkim,India Pangolakha Wildlife Sanctuary which is at 10000mt.. Going to setup more camera traps tomorrow to find about the corridor
What a great thing to see love it!!👌👍😁😁
Love this
Right on cool!!!😊
I felt his emotions for the survival of these exquisite animals
We have recently captured images of possibly two tigers at Sikkim,India Pangolakha Wildlife Sanctuary which is at 10000mt
Super! 👍👏👍
So fascinating that tigers are able to live at such altitudes!
Although this is too intriguing to watch but I can only imagine what would happen if a tiger happens to come in front of the presenter as he is literally present in a tiger territory.
I live in himalya uttrakhand altitude 3000 metre some people say they saw tiger nobody believe them every body say they are snow leopard bt today i see this video now i can explain them.. Thnku for this video
that high up for tigers. most times they live much lower below the above mountains. where normally only snow leopards were found living in the higher areas. less so for tigers so, this was truly unusual and interesting too
This guy is brave.
"How High Can Tigers Live" - good luck educating people 😂
If all of BBC subbers share w 10 people, who share w 10 more, etc., we can do that, right?
11M current BBC subs would turn into 50M or 100M+ subs in less than a month,
"Let's roll", people. Anyone else in the game? 👍
⚘🙏❤🙏⚘ 🐱
Its in Bhutan for those wondering.
There are few tigers who adapted to Hills too
they are relatively smaller than Bengal tiger and extremely rare so rare that no research have been done on them
Sign me up to tag along with this guy on one of his animal exploration projects. He's about as passionate as it gets.
سبحان الله .. خالق كل شيئ
Wow so lucky enough to sight This beautiful creature in high Himalaya though please do mention which species of tiger it is. Please more update sir. Thank you so much even the video is very short. Best of luck for your expedition. Namaste and.high respect to you
Nice
Practically he is the true King of the jungle 🐯
I might not reacting or crying like that. But I agree it's a good thing for Himalaya Tiger population and yet i amazed by nature.
This was last land of the tiger not expedition tiger shown in 2010 resting peace Alan wonderful idea and wonderful man
Ngl I initially read the words, “high” and “tiger” in the title and thought of tigers high on marijuana or something
Yuk,yuk me to.
Oh wow
Tigers have also been found at high altitudes in Himalayas of DIbang Valley in Arunachal Pradesh, India.
Panthera tigris tigris is a Mainland Asian Tiger, whereas Panthera tigris sondaica is a Sunda Islands Tiger.
This is crazy
You can see it on Gordon's face that he wanted to break down in joy not from him discovering them, but knowing he can know get funding to save and conserve these rare tigers.
They are even tigers in Bhutan!
gives hope that more tiger's can be found in more inaccessible places 🐅
What is the outro music used for these BBC Earth videos? It sounds like Hans Zimmer but I can't find it anywhere in any of the Planet Earth soundtracks or anywhere else.
Finally found it. Not Hans Zimmer. Song is Chris Warner - Whirlpool Galaxy

“Creation is an act of sheer will. Life, will find a way”
OMG! this is my dream job
As Tiger population is increasing they are reclaiming their old territories.
A very interesting and moving story. Nature is just amazing and tigers are majestic big cats.
Thanks for sharing. Love it.
Greetings from Asturias (Spain)
I believe the Javan tiger is still alive out in the remote forest. I think if you had enough trail cameras you could rediscover one ☝️
Java island has as many as half of us population lol
That male at 2:50 was enormous
Love from pakistan
"Okay. They are here"
I'd be packing my bags, and board on the plane, but this man breaks out in tears for finding a tiger. ☻
I must be blind because I didn’t see a single tear
@@Jesse-bg1bh Oh Jesse, Jesse, you've to open the eyes inside ur heart... the upper ones aren't working for you apparently.☻
@@Jesse-bg1bh Apparently you are blind. Interesting.
Wow
Hope your team will do some good efforts to increase tiger numbers.
Tiger existing :
man cries like a baby : this is so beautiful & important omg
tiger : bro im literally just a tiger existing
Save the animals
Do the leapord and tiger can share the same territory...?
Seeing tiger here is unbeliable
bt this jungle land is mainly 4 leapord .
Find their litter box. They never stray far from the litter box.
Anyone tell me What kind of tigers they are and this is amazing I never knew the largest cat in the world can live that high up, they must’ve moved up due to habitat loss and other changes or maybe just migrated
I can feel U 🐯

Alright pull it together buddy lol
So very emotional! This documentary person wants to protect and respectfully investigate and learn about these beautiful animals, the Bengal Tigers. Not many survive today! We must make sure they do not become victims of humanity’s Horrible Treatments of all species!
I live in Himalayas about 3500 m tiger come in summer time in over area
Holy crap! That is high! I always thought of Indian tigers as being lowland “jungle cats”, but this changes everything.
There are tales of villagers witnessing tiger stalking goats at 5500m in the indo nepal border area, that places thriving with wild life and many thought villagers might have mistaken leapords for tigers
Btw india has a cat species called jungle cat
@@Dhruv-Kumar, Just looked them up. Those things look cool! Thanks. 😊
Edit: grammar
This video was india? It sounded like it might be Nepal or Pakistan, of course India is right there too.
@@blackout07blue Its in india and fyi pakistan has no wild tigers , himalayas are in northern india bordering nepal and tibet
Don't wanna spoil the fun and all but they are still tigers with sharp claws and teeth so be very careful there Mr Gordon. A tiger encounter might be rare but it is possible. Anyway Godbless you for your passion in helping preserve these tiger ms in the himalayas.
