thank you so much!!! well I knew I wanted to use the piccolo because it's just so cute and fits the music well.
first I transcribe the melody often using a piano score for reference. then I add in the counter melody / harmony, changing voicing around to make it work for the instruments. and of course adding my own flair by ear! honestly, I just listen to it a bunch of times and I just stick to what works. this is a bit of an older work (hence the old muse score format) but if I were to redo it I would definitely add more variations in the parts !! since I am a flute player I would definitely make it more virtuoso-like
