Doc Neeson the singer for the Angels was born in Ireland (and bass player in this song) wrote the lyrics to this one. It was in Mount Isa Queensland that he first heard male audience members sing the colour that speak of.... Up Ireland as well you legends.

Saw the Angels live in Aussie pubs. Doc Neeson belting it out in his tuxedo.. climbing the stage scaffold...his face in the blue light singing Baby out of the blue. One time I was close to the stage in a pub and Doc spat water over the crowd...landing on me. It was like holy water...RIP Doc and long live The Angels in Aussie rock mortality.

Well said. Saw them in the early 80's at the Agora Ballroom in Tampa, Florida. At that time, I believe we had previously heard 'Marseilles' on AOR radio a time or two and after seeing them I could not believe they had not received the same attention to date that the great AC/DC had. Bought all of their music that had been released and they became one of my, and my friends, most listened to bands. Phenomenal talents and Doc performed as if he was at Madison Square Garden.

An interview Doc gave (source not recalled) stated that the premise of this song was about an ex-girlfriend that had commited suicide. "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again" The band was disappointed when the catch-cry of 'No way get f****ed f*** off' developed as an anthem.

The only reason they are called Angel City in North America is so they could avoid any potential law suits with other bands who used similar names to their own (The Angels), hence why they had a different name for international markets
