- This is what Padang Padang was doing while the 'Mega Swell' was still building. Almost every wave funneled along the reef during the afternoon low tide with a few absolute gems coming through.

Exactly. Last year and this year have been horrendous with boatloads of Instagram claiming kooks dropping/snaking nonstop. This group in 2018 understands whose turn it is. They respect the rotation. The result is every wave is an opportunity for whatever surfer has the turn and wants the wave. I would love to sit with those 50-60 people waiting 2 hours if must to get a solid wave. But wait however long and get dropped on...does not matter if it is only 6 in the water. Dropped on not only steals one's wave, but it can be very dangerous if anything goes wrong.
That second wave was awesome. Doble barrel with spit and amazingly ridden!!

What's the water temperature over there?
Every surf trip I did to Bali (from June to Sept season) the water was warm enough to wear a rash vest and board shorts (but I come from a cold water place so it felt very warm to me).

okay cool, was curious because it seems like at most other spots in Bali its mostly Australians and other western surfers. Was surprised to see mostly locals at Padang.
Could somewhere in between a beginner- intermediate surfer ride this?

Much better than any days last year and look at all the respect in the water. Everyone well aware of the guy on the wave. 0 drop ins/snaking. Last year was nonstop snaking and a$$hole behavior in the lineup. Was as crowded or worst too.

This year is much much worst with drop ins and huge crowds. Watching this vid again. This lineup is a dream to have now... all is going so smooth. So relax. Can enjoy watching the vid because the surfers this day are also very enjoy. Also. I do not see anyone doing cheap Instagram claiming/claims. Sad what 5 years can do to human. Maybe all will ride with phones and earsets in near future.
