    Been making a suit of armor out of sheet metal, because the sheet metal is thin, template shapes work really well for just being able to put it all together. Making a medieval gothic suit of armor inspired by the vampire counts from warhammer. Might end up making another suit of that armor in foam just in case for conventions.

      TIL pepakura templates can be applied to metal sheets. I don't know if I'm ever going to require that knowledge, but thank you for sharing :)

    Great job again Wayne. I like how you combined the Armorsmith software (i'm going to purchase it!) into the videos. You address problems with sizing the armor pieces. Now I'll have something that will allow me to customize to my daughter's specific measurements. I know that these videos take a lot of time and memory to edit and post, but I do have a request. If you can create a new video on Armorsmith and the sizing of torso, shoulder and arm armor? Obviously the techniques you have already shown can be applied to those pieces, but if I see the part specifically, I can then mimic what is actually done onscreen! (i keep my laptop near my work area as I just started learning 'bout Foam Armor in January :) ). Anyway, keep up the good work and we love the Evil Ted shirt you're rocking!!!

      I suggest you try it first yourself once you purchased it, I intend to make episodes 4 and 5 first soon and then afterwards it's going into a different direction.
      It's easy to do yourself, just try it once you purchased the software, if I can do it, you can for sure

    Hopefully you can help me out Wayne, I'm stuck on what millimeter of foam to use on the templates, like I got my templates on 405th halo cosplay forums and the templates doesn't say what millimeter to use, and so I was wondering if it shows us on armorsmith?

    I have a question about the shin armor. I know this was a while ago, but do you have a video showing how you made it? Also does it slip on? I'm trying to learn how to make something like this for a My Hero Academia cosplay.

      ehm yeah, in episode 2, in the first 10 secondes of the video i say "in the previous episdode we built the front piece of the shin.." i suggest starting at episode 1 ;)

    Is there a way to adjust an armor piece's opacity/transparency in the program? it would help to make sure the helmet fits properly on my big head lol

    • @WaynesWorkshop
      @WaynesWorkshop  Před 5 lety +1

      in the latest version, once you have a model dragged on a body part, select the model and in the right hand data menu it has a "opacity"option.
      by default its set to 1,00 set it to 0,50 for example and its transparent, be sure to use komma and not a dot.

    Great video again. Why not make an foam sole to the underside of the boot to make it more stirdy. And to get taller in the process ;) or is that not very practical?

    • @elvemage110
      @elvemage110 Před 5 lety +1

      Usually people don't do that because the seams tend to tear from bending with each step

    • @WaynesWorkshop
      @WaynesWorkshop  Před 5 lety

      Indeed, and I prefer to walk on the sole of the shoe and not of foam because personally I start to walk like a duck, side to side all the time because the foam simply doesn't support the weight

    @rodinafreeman244 Před 5 lety

    if i could see the last shape of the foam i could think of 3d printed :) how is the armorsmith right now? it is 5 bucks expensive than before.is it better now? what is the new features?

    • @WaynesWorkshop
      @WaynesWorkshop  Před 5 lety +1

      way better, more features like poseable avatar now, more stable aswell as the previous versions could crash sometime.
      its well worth the money and the more features get in, the pricier it will be.
      i think of it as just another tool, and one thats REALLY usefull for armor making
