The demo_updown is basically "Tsukuba Circuit - DIRT" to be honest. The George V Paris somehow looks already finished and the same thing for New York 😺
This is really cool to see. Grand Canyon and Tsukuba look pretty much ready to go. Some others are close, there are just a few missing textures and pop-in issues.
carrying a big ruler for scale reasons. PD shoots and scans the actual locations and often compares laser scan data to photo references, so they make a sprite of their ruler guy. So when they port the sprite of the dude to their 3D software they can model the tracks accordingly to the size of the sprite.
@@GTChucker86It's easy to say they are perfectionist, so every straight and corner had to have proper length and radius, not only real scenery. That's why we had barely started Motegi, Suzuka and Tsukuba in Tokyo-Seoul
I'd like to know how to carefully port those tracks to GT3 and GT Concept without errors. Some time ago I thought about porting few tracks from Prius Demo to GT Concept as a test. Edit: It is in fact a big surprise that those tracks are much more advanced than in Lupo demo, some looked even better than in Prius demo. While Grand Canyon edition from Lupo demo looked much better, New York (version seen on E3 2003) looks much better with this start/finish section
^ HostFS can be a bit complicated to set up, make sure you follow the instructions _exactly_ But once you have it running, you can just drag track files around, rename them to something you have unlocked in-game & then instantly load them up without even having to relaunch the game. It's a fantastic time saver for playing around with stuff like this.
@@ddm9596 It could be an interesting idea, considering I'm still on a level where i just use a Cheat Engine and switch a track in GTC and GT4P whenever I have mood to try out a beta/unfinished race track. Never had a chance to check out a track that was available in another demo since that broke up memory access or other error prevented me from this. I am a complete amateur when it comes to programming and changing stuff, so I'm aware that one bad change can brake the entire game until I switch it back to normal...
In GT Concept, AI racers on Autumn Ring often drive off the track near the end of the lap. The GT Subaru version of the track seems to fix this. I wonder if any other tracks have revised AI on later versions?
It depends. For example, Lupo demo and Subaru Version have working A.I. in pre-alpha of Yosemite while in Prius demo it's broken. I bet those changes you talk about were made specifically for GT4 physics and CPU levels

Man this is so dope Gran Turismo 4 tracks with Gran Turismo 3 graphics. I love this so much!
Wait for a Concept Overhaul Mod. You'll be astonished
@@KaterinUA5 Ohh yeah the Gran Turismo 3 Concept Mod by Misuka, im really really excited and hype when those are release into public 😃😃
@@KaterinUA5and also GT3 EPILOGUE MOD that brought some tracks from GT4 PROLOGUE like Fuji 1990s, Tsukuba and Grand Canyon.
@@purwantiallan5089 Yes, but sadly, this mod is now six feet under. Misuka's mod will have more than just GTC/Prius demo assets.
1:03 i loved this a lot it would catch so many drivers off guard wish they kept it like this
Very strange to see why they removed those in the final game built...

These pre build tracks from Gran Turismo 3 eventually makes its way into Gran Turismo 4...

1 track in particular also just loops over itself on start/finish line.
this is sweet, all we need to find is the Gran Turismo 3 - A-Spec - Autobacs Tentou Shiyuu now that's what i wanna see.

Very glad we didn't have to put up with this nightmare layout of El Capitan in the final game. It got so much better!
Ironically, only in those demos this track have working A.I.. In Prius demo made few months later, paths are broken
