LOVE IT
I had the pleasure of riding two legs in the USA on one, I loved it!
Flew from haneda to izu oshima on the ys11. Great aircraft. Those RR engines on reverse thrust could be heard all over the island. You knew the late afternoon flight was in. Great memories of the 80s thx ANA
Hawaiian Airlines operated one ot two of the YS-11s in 1966. I flew on the YS-11 several times in the late 1980s and early 1990s when Mid Pacific Airlines offered interisland service between the Hawaiian islands. Those were the only aircraft Mid Pacific flew. It was a good plane and only scary when we once flew into a storm with one.
Flew on these planes way back. I can't forget the sound of those Rolls Royce Dart turboprops.
Nice work
But yet, it gave a lot of experience in building aircraft components for the Japanese. That's how they were able to eventually become a major parts supplier for Boeing (the 777 and 787 uses a lot of components sourced from Japan).
Good one. Hope to see some videos on Indian aviation.
