ThOdi symbolizes the epitome of Carnatic music and the veena is particularly suited for a ragam like this, and there is no exponent better than Smt Jayanthi among today's vainikas. Would love to hear her play all the thOdi kritis she mentioned, plus more, such as kmalAmbike and jEsinAthella.

Yera Na Pai (Thodi) varnam is my favourite. I always finish my daily sadhana by playing Abhogi and Thodi Varanams. Yes, I agree beauty of Thodi Ragam is the Gamakas as in G2, D1 and N2. Thank you so much for choosing Ragam Thodi for today's episode. Eagerly Waiting to listen Sri Ragam.🙏👌

That was a FABULOUS Thodi !! Many thanks for the wonderful insights into this majestic Raga! The kathakali musicians of kerala are expert in bringing out all of the Nava Rasas through this one Raga.... perhaps you could include a video on the Rasas associated with various Ragas?!

Wow . You started with a very positive note about the next generation classical musicians.
Initially I used go feel that Todi is a very sad raga. Pathos you can say.
But listening to the various compositions and also your wonderful explanations , I have changed my view . It's a magical one.

Good morning Jayanthi madam. I am very happy to hear the wonderful rendition of Thodi raga by you. The beauty in this raga is the gamakam in each of the swaras G2 D1 N2. Thank you for choosing this ragam.
Though a melakartha ragam, there is beauty in playing G2 M1 D1 N2 D1 M1 without touching P. Is it an exception to this melakatha ragam madam or should it be taken as G2M1-D1N2D1-M1?
    God bless.
