    I have just ordered an equivalent one of these from Innorel in China. There are some small differences in mine, but I have every confidence it will be the equal of the taller 44mm ball tripod head I already have. (I recently purchased a second-hand Vanguard and will be swapping my new ball head onto the tripod so I have Arca-Swiss compatibility.) The upper panorama swivel function is not to be dismissed lightly. In practice it works extremely well. Occasionally, I give that particular locking screw a knock and the camera then swivels downhill, but once locked, the entire head is very stable. I agree with your assessments of this ball head entirely. Anyone looking for a replacement ball head would do well to look closely at this and pay close attention to your words. My Innorel tripod has also given me great service. The people at Innorel make quality products and back them up with great service.

    Very excellent comprehensive, to-the-point and fluff-free review. Based on your assessment, I ordered one of these heads just last week (currently available from two sellers on US ebay). Thank you for taking the time to review such a niche product. Much appreciated.

    I have just received Ball head today. Your review is very accurate and well presented. This ball head is a keeper. I ordered it this on the 6th of October. in the UK. It was worth the wait. I paid £27.00 including Shipping. When I first looked at them. A few sellers had them in stock at around £50.00 to 55.00. I am coming from a Motor vehicle engineering background so in my opinion, this will carry a fair weight They are getting thin on the ground. I agree with you Sir on your review. So if you want one fellow CZcamsrs then now is the time to buy. I don't know if it is low stock because of The Virus, or getting discontinued. We will have to see. Thank you very much for your review. The ideal review for someone looking at them.

    Good review sir, however I had to return this item due to following reasons:
    The panoramic load strength is not anywhere near 25kg. Maybe 5.
    my verdict, the ball head is nearly excellent when you use it in the stereotypical way. It's smooth, fine tuned. However, when you start getting creative with it and put load onto panoramic disks it doesn't hold. (video work) E.g. If you have a 7+kg video setup and tilt it down or sideways the panoramic knobs don't hold.
    Will continue looking for my perfect ball head.

    • @allthestuffwedo
      @allthestuffwedo  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes I understand. I did state that I doubt that leverage was taken in to account when they determined the load figure. When necessary I know that I can switch the top plate to a standard non-panoramic Arca-Swiss plate at any time. The strength of the ball clamp is excellent, but the top plate panoramic knob is the weakest point without doubt. Cheers.

    There's something that I can't understand about the scale markings on the panning function at the bottom. I can see the numbers 0 and 360 next to each other. That makes a full circle 390 degrees. Is this a design error?

    • @allthestuffwedo
      @allthestuffwedo  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes, you are right, a fundamental error, you are sharp to notice it. I must admit to never using the degree scale. Fortunately it does not detract from how good this head is but the designer needs a lesson in geometry. Cheers.

    Very good review. You deserve more subscribers. What type of microphone are you using?

    • @allthestuffwedo
      @allthestuffwedo  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you. I've been thinking hard to remember which of the microphones I used for this but can't remember exactly but I have an old Electro-Voice N/D 257B which is my usual go to mic. I'm currently testing a new microphone which is a shotgun style by Comica (VM20) and I'm so far very impressed.

    Excellent, high quality review. I have a question, I’ve read in the the specs and the QR plate is 40mm wide. Standard Arca-Swiss is 38mm wide, are you certain that the clamp will tighten on the standard size? This is the only doubt that’s stopping me from getting this head.

    • @allthestuffwedo
      @allthestuffwedo  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks! Hi Leo, all of my many Arca-Swiss plates that I have obtained from different sources fit and tighten with no problem. Cheers.

    Are you still using this head and, what is your verdict today after months of use? I have been looking at a similar model from another brand with the panning at the plate level but its not available in the states, but this looks quite nice. Thanks for the review.
