Swedish furniture and homewares brand Ikea opened its largest store in the world in the Philippines, on November 24, 2021. The new 730,000 square foot facility in the city of Pasay is part of the company’s global push to expand in Asia. It houses a dining area, call centre, showrooms, warehouses and an e-commerce facility. Ikea now has more than 460 physical stores in around 60 markets internationally and is planning to add 60 more locations in Asia and South America by the end of the fiscal year.

I had similar a perspective. However, I think MNCs like IKEA would have more vertical impact on the overall economy, especially at times like these when the country needs rapid economic boost. Establishing these giants would definitely generate direct and subsidiary employment, which will increase PPP. This will further lead to mass circulation of money within the economy instead of them being saved in foreign banks by few hoarders.

Those pieces are all in one big room near the cashier.
