    A few recommendations: first don't solder on the cells. It does damage the cell and you risk a thermal runaway (had it happen twice when trying to make one battery), instead invest in a cheap $20 spot welder like I did, it was well worth it. Next you really should have an addition insulation layer between each cells as the wraps often wear over time and short out the battery. Finally I have really liked the molicel P42A 21700 cells. With those, I have a 315 gram 4s 4200mah that will give 23+ minutes of flight with burst currents as high as 75amps.

    Hi, I wanna ask:
    I have a Parrot Jumping Night Drone:
    Drone: 3.7V 2A Max
    Battery Pack: Li-PO 3.7V 550mAh 2Wh 15C Cont Discharge
    Battery is dropping. Usually I can play up to 20 mins, now below 5 minutes.
    I want to diy using 18650 battery.
    I have AWT 3500mAH 3.7V 35A High Drain and MXJO 3500mAH 3.7V 20A (both are authentics). I use for vaping device.
    - Can I use my vape battery to drone? I plan to mount only 1 battery, probably using battery slot so I can easily recharge it.
    I have Nitecore UM2 USB Charger.
    - If can, do I have to tear down the original battery, take the BMS and put into 18650 battery or I can simply soldering cable at drone connector to the battery without BMS?
    For safety reason, which is best?
    - Also, there are 3 connectors on the drone, I think 1 for battery level, how to soldering it so I can see the battery level on the smartphone.
    - I think with 1 single 18650 battery with 3500mAH, I can get very longer play time. I confuse with 2A Max warning on the drone and 30A or 20A on the battery.
    Can you help giving me understanding about it? Waiting for your feedback. Thank you

    Thx, what width (flat) heat shrink did u use for the cover? I've ordered 70mm, will it be ok?

      @lukasveiser5334  Před 4 lety

      70mm will be ok, in an emergency you can also use adhesive tape

    Thanks, the ones I found were 30 A, but 15 A continuous? Is there enough to power a long range quad (not freestyle)?

    • @lukasveiser5334
      @lukasveiser5334  Před 3 lety +1

      For long range I use 2p4s 20a permanently, short term 50a

      Lukáš Veiser I purchased ones that have 30 A continuous but if 80C or greater it cycles down to 15 A. Would these lithium ion batteries power a 3 inch drone if flown conservatively?

    You do everything so fast, why? I can't understand your work steps. Other youtuber, make it better and clearer and there you can understand the steps better. I can not replicate because I'm afraid to make a mistake.
