I once told a waitress to send her supervisor over to my table. She had been having a tough time due to a Karen at the table behind me complaining and ridiculing the poor woman. when the manager got to my table I motioned for the waitress to come over as well. I told the manager that they needed to promote this woman because she was doing such an excellent job in spite of the way the 'bitch siting behind me' (she was still siting there) was treating her. I told the manager that if I owned a restaurant I would be trying to recruit her to come work for me. I then tipped the woman $30 (quite a lot for a $20 check). 6 weeks later I noticed she wasn't working there any more and I asked the manager where she was. he said 'She's gone to management training, thanks a lot, Ive lost my best server because of you!' with a wink and a smile.

When I worked in customer service I wore a fake name (which in Germany you're allowed to do) and when people were disrespectful and called me by my (fake) name it made the whole situation a bit funny and absurd which - now comes the good part for the company - made it easier for me to stay polite and find a satisfying solution for all.
Ugh, a Karen as a principal. God help all those staff and students.

There was an event at an airport in Rio, with massive flight delays because of bad weather, and a dickhead was harassing and yelling at a very nice attendant, more or less like the first dude here, when he shouts at her: -"Do you know who I am?!" So she calmly picks up the microphone and announces: -"Ladies and gentlemen, there is a man here who does not seem to know who he is, if anyone can help him identify himself, please step forward". And the crowd erupted in laughter and applause. Freaking brilliant!

I worked as a tour guide in St Augustine Florida. One day, for reasons which escape me, some woman took a major dislike to me and told me what to do during my tour and how to do it and that I was the hired help!. Ah no. I kicked her off the tour right then and there.
Thank you ozzy man.. iv had two surgeries in a week and surrounded by over worked nurses who drag azz with your pain meds because they are mad that you are the extra patient and she is tired of patients demanding fing pillows ... I needed this...
Years ago while tending bar we had a sign that was visible to all: "The customer is always right. The bartender, however, determines who IS and who IS NOT a customer." It wasn't uncommon to physically "Assist" a non-customer out of the bar.

I think that it's a choice: you can choose to be like your parents or you can choose to be better. My parents were so cruel that I was removed from their custody but I'm not like they were.

its a phrase for the employee to follow, and not for the customer to exploit. Simply enough, good employee has to try to make the customer satisfied no matter what, but nothing gives the customer right to be rude and if you are a person not the perfect robot you have 100% right to do anything appropriate to get rid of thet f*cker

"The customer is always right" was never meant to mean you should bend over backwards to fulfill any ridiculous request. It's actually a reference to what products you should sell. Like for instance if you're selling shirts and you think blue are the best shirts so you stock a bunch of blue, but at the end of the month you've got loads of blue left over and sold completely out of red, that's the customer metaphorically telling you that you should be selling red. A better phrasing might be "The customer is always right about what the customer wants". You should listen when it comes to stocking products and offering services, not kowtow to every ridiculous demand from every entitled Karen.

IMO the different between an argument and a discussion is that in a discussion is that you know at the beginning you may be right or wrong by certain degrees and you are curious and empathetic to hear the other person view points. This assumes that the other person is not an ass hole else you are wasting your time and breath :)

Speaking of name tags: I was a delivery driver for a major pizza chain in the 1980's. An investigative news show did an expose on how the "on time or it's free" guarantee encouraged reckless driving by delivery drivers, which had resulted in fatalities. One driver was caught on video peeling out of the parking lot and driving 70 mph on residential streets. When he retuned to the store the reporter confronted him. When asked his name, clearly being a smartass he looked directly into the camera and said "Bob" but a closeup of his name tag read "Kyle." Then this young man who couldn't have been more than 18 related sadly that he was working hard because he had to support his wife and infant son - dripping with insincerity and certainly another lie. It was hilarious.

It is not meant to mean the customer is right in every circumstance, but to remind the salesperson that tastes differ. Nothing more. It reminds me of the common phrase "Blood is thicker than water", meaning family is more important than unrelated people. The original phrase was "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the waters of the womb", meaning almost the exact opposite: The family you choose (the blood of the covenant) is more important that un-chosen genetic connection (waters of the womb). So many common phrases have been bastardised like this.

The mother was in a rush. She wanted to get her kid enough candy, but didn't want to take the time to go door to door. I suspect she will regret the way she acted at some point. The very fact that the little girl knew that she was 'being bad' suggests that Mom, for the most part, is doing a decent job. We all have those days. I don't think she qualifies as one of "the worst people ever"

One of the many Ozzy Man videos I've seen so far in just a short amount of time. Some months ago I hadn't even ever heard of him, while he's around for some years already. With most of the videos I clicked on the like-button. Sometimes I forget to do that.
And yes, although most of the times it's all great fun, there are those that actually also make you think about everything everywhere all at once, like this one.

It was that extreme situation that anger should be reserved for.
One of the things I am most proud of was when I was working at the Alamo Drafthouse, and a grumpy old entitled dude walked out and told me there were no more seats available, (yet I had a live count on my computer of how many seats had been sold up to that point, and there were two full rows on the bottom.) He meant no more "good" seats.
I told him, "Sir, that cannot be right!" he started yelling and cussing and asking me my name. I calmly spelled out my FULL name for him while he ranted about how he was gonna get me fired. I stared him down until he was "I want to speak to your manager! Now!" I told him, "No problem." and I walked back and took a leak in the restroom, came back out and said, "He's VERY busy as it's 7pm and many shows are starting, but he'll come out when he gets a chance."
Dude waited... and waited... I left and went back to help run food and drinks, as was my job. I'm guessing he got fed up and left during that time. I didn't get fired, either. Because he was wrong, and knew it.

That's so interesting, I didn't know that but it makes sense now. Kinda like how 'Blood is thicker than water' means the opposite of what people think it means. Blood (of the Covenant i.e. friendships) is thicker than water (of birth i.e. biological relationships); it means the relationships you choose are more meaningful than those you're merely born into.

Would of been better is instead of a camera phone someone brought out a baseball bat. I watched a video of two losers stealing thousands of dollars worth of product from Lowe’s and all people did was record it for minutes while it was happening and the thieves were loading their car. While this particular case was a moron trying to get views on instaface or grambook or whatever their called. But most photographers are rude arrogant scum who think it's their right to thrust cameras in people faces and personally I think those kind of people need a swift kick to the face. Just because photographing people is legally allowed doesn't make it ok.

You know you live in a messed up world when a little girl has to tell their mother to stop stealing... the other video clips hurt but that one hurt the most.
My Dad told me this: In the worst of the Depression, when he was a kid, he was in a store with his Dad when a woman dropped a $2.00 bill on the floor, and didn't notice. (Canada had that denomination, it continues today as a coin) My Dad picked it up, and gave it back to the woman. That was a bit of money back in the 30's. After she left, my Grandfather said to my Dad, "Next time, put your foot over it." I think of that now and then. My Dad was an honest man then, and until he died and raised me the same. We can break free of bad parenting.
I have been in a situation like that, low income family and I am told the same thing. The people who believe you should put your foot over it also believe in Karma, because I must have bad karma for being an honest person and low money therefore in there eyes having bad karma seems to justify picking it up and keeping it.
I managed a restaurant once upon a time and when I was training new people I would tell them 'the customer is seldom right and usually a douchebag, but they pay our salary so we can't punch them in the throat.'

I once worked for a yeller and quit on him at the most inopportune time for him. I told him whatever money he owed me he could stick it where the sun don't shine. The funny part is how he just lost it and demanded I get back to work and that I couldn't quit. I walked away just laughing my ass off listening to him yelling at me to come back.

@@cpenner7086 You could just as easily say the same for the half assery that is going on in the food service industry for years. I think I've had 3 out of my last 10 meals in the last 3-4 months actually end up being correct. I worked at one fastfood job for 8 years and a second one for 3 years while growing up. I would've been ashamed to have put out some of the quality of food I have received recently. I'm not expecting 5 star quality ingredients or applying unrealistic standards to cheap fat/salt/sugar loaded belly bombs. I'm talking about brown not yellow *I mean dark brown* slimy lettuce. You say plain. They make it harder on themselves by still putting everything on it. Chicken strips that were translucent in the middle(obviously not thawed completely before they were fried), mountains of dry old stuff that baked under a heat lamp or in a warmer for hours, wrong items, missing items, lids not secured leaking in my car, waiting 20 minutes in line with 1 car ahead of me while the lobby is closed because of covid, and every other person looks like they hate that they are there.
You want $15 an hour for this level of effort? I wish I could go to work, only get half my projects done completely, have a pissy attitude being cynical to everyone, do horrible quality work when I do complete it, and still get a raise every year for the next 5 years. I don't complain or return food. I just don't go back.
I'm starting to run out of places to go for a convenient quick bite or when I don't have time to cook.

I used to think Ozzy man just had a keen eye for things and good comedic narration. But I understand now he just has super-human levels of awareness and observation. (This video is clearly demonstrating his keen ability of self-awareness to boot)
