My Nemesis the whole game through could only be killed via ranged attacks. There was no way to put him down for good and restocking arrows while his hunting party charge you and you run from ghuls is hard
Has a few Chieftains like this... I really wish I didn't have to cheese one particular Warchief by popping Bladestorm and spamming Execute for twenty seconds trying to kill him.
The worst part being? I didn't even EARN Bladestorm (This was mid-game during the mandatory 'kill all the warchiefs' quest) I was using that one Epic rune they give you, so I shouldn't have had that option but there was literally no other way to kill him.

Celebrimbor did not make the One Ring. Sauron took the shape of an elf and asked the lord of Eregion, Celebrimbor, to make 19 rings. Celebrimbor himself only made 3 rings, Vilya, Narya and Nenya. the rest of them was made by different elven smith's in Eregion. the One Ring was personally made by Sauron in the fire's of Orodruin, aka mount doom. the One Ring itself was created to control the other rings and since Sauron made the ring with his fëa, aka his soul, he was the only on who could use the ring to it's full extent, thus making him the Lord of the Rings.
Fun Fact: Sauron before his turning to Melkor's ways was a spirit under the jurisdiction of the god of the crafts, forge, etc. Hence all the fire and metal.
max larsen yes indeed Sauron was a maiar of Aulë the smith before he was seduced by Melkor. and so was Curunír, aka Saruman. Aulës mindset was pretty much the same as Melkors. they where both driven by their ambition, but where Aulë took pride in being a part of Erus creations, Melkor craved his own world, made in his image. it ultimately comes down to the fact that Aulës servants mostly was just as ambitious as he was. Sauron and Saruman allowed that ambition to control them rather than like their master controlling it.
look, can we just pretend this is a what if story? i like ceebrimbor's role in the story, he was the only interesting part of it to be honest...

ProSuper just the sequel hook ending or that the game had only 1 boss: Hammer? Tower is not there fighting together with his Talons against you and your warchiefs and Black Hand who's basically an evil version of you with same abilities, but on serious steroids is a f//cking QTE!

Skyrim got me super excited when I finally leveled up to where I can constantly decapitate my enemies throughout the land, then I play Shadow of Mordor and I literally just decapitate every single orc in sight.

HELP, this one fucking guy keeps one shotting me with poison spears and his only weakness is combat finishers :( FUCKER IS ALREADY LEVEL 18 while the rest are level 8/9
MegaDoc360 Combo Executions should handle him easily.
Then you find out through all your failing he can only be hurt (not killed) with stealth attacks so you can only do regular hits against him until he is low enough to be grabbed but he can't be grabbed due to a hatred on pain...
Yes this actually happened to me and he became a war chief...
Just recruit a bunch of generals to fight him.

It's worth it in my opinion. I can see how the combat could het repetative, however, combat feels great and I did really like the story, however a bit anticlimactic. Ratbag is the best tho!

I nearly went into an explanation about why it's not really a moral quandry when it comes to slaughtering orcs because of all the backstory shit in the Silmarillion, but then I realized that's just way nerdier than I normally get. I'll go stuff myself in a locker now.

Alright, so the god of this world, Eru Iluvatar made the races of Elves and Men, but before that, he made the Maiar, many of whom made their own races like the Ents. One of the Maiar, Melkor (who you can tell is evil by his name), was jealous of Iluvatar's favoritism toward humans, so to get back at him, he corrupted the other creation, elves. Basically, he tortured and twisted them into Orcs. They're the only race in Middle Earth to not have arisen "naturally" (meaning: created out of elemental shit by Iluvatar or the Maiar). They are literally nothing but evil, and while you could feel bad for the first Orcs, they keep making more Orcs. They are literally just pure evil.

actually Melkor is one of the Valar. Maiar are their servants, Anar don't exist (you probably meant Ainur, which is another word for Maiar). Balrogs are corrupted Maiar, as well as Sauron. Trolls are corrupted Ents, Orcs are corrupted Elves and so on - since Melkor/Morgoth doesn't possess the light of creation he can only imitate the creations of othersc and twist them to his purpose (like Whitney S said, the first Orcs were created by torturing Elves). So Uruks really are pure evil, corrupted to the bone.

DragonInferno99 Ω think Bloodborne. The stronger you got the bigger the bad guys get. SoM was flat. Same level of bad guys throughout the game.
Enemies got exactly one real upgrade, when you shifted to the second region, but even that wasn't huge. At that point if you have a reasonable portion of the skill tree unlocked and are decent at parries you can just wombo combo your way through most enemies without trying too hard, and that difficulty shift comes at about the same time you get the possession capabilities to just break the game wide open.
Fair's fair to SoM though, it's a really /fun/ game breaker power.
That is true... but at the same time I love the feeling of being a complete badass who is able to make an entire city of orcs go full civil war.

Definitely one of my favorite games, yes the combat gets repetitive after you master it, but it's still fun, plenty of enemies have different strengths and when you run into a combat master and you don't know what you're doing you can get shit on.

Well he was originally named Smeagol, and he was a Stoorish Hobbit, one of the earliest species. He and his cousin Déagol were out in the lake when Déagol found the One Ring. The One Ring filled Smeagol with greed and he choked his cousin, stole the ring, and went out to live in the mountains as Gollum.

You should. Its basically the same combat system with some extra tweaks to it that make it extremely satisfying. Shadow of War expands on it even more.

I'll never forget Tumog the Cook. He had both Ambush and Dishonor, so he would sneak up and snipe with his crossbow while I was fighting somebody else, then just walk away with a smart-aleck remark, letting the other orcs kill me.
