    Hey, i have a question for mixing ratio I know how to mix paint and follow the ratio it is not too difficult, but what does a 10:10:1 mixing ratio mean? Im painting a 2005 Toyota Camry and first painting the base coat which is saying 10:10:1 do you know what it means?

    Hi!! Thank u for this video. It was very satisfying to watch. I'm getting ready to finally lay the red holographic flake onto my black Kia Soul. I actually planned & purchased the big bottle of flake a couple years back along with a couple bottles of mid coat to stick it down with, also purchased the paid sprayer with a nozzle the needed size in order to spray the flake. Now I'm finally going to do it but I wanted to ask your opinion as I've been told that in order to get the depth to make the holographic flake really pop I'm going to want to put a good 3-4 coats of clear coat down on top of the flake. My question to u is how much clear coat do u think I need to buy in order to get 3-4 coats onto my Kia Soul?? It's a fairly small car so I'm thinking not too much but I wanna do it nice and thick like u did it here too. Just want to make sure that I have enough clear coat to get the job done without running out

    Nice job over all but that fade has to go if it's your personal car and not one for sale. Can you gray scuff the fender lower and re gold the decal? Then clear just the lower and buff it to blend? I can tell you aren't thrilled about the fade either.

  • @garageratz612
    @garageratz612 Před 5 lety

    Not bad. Practice panels are crucial for 'experimenting' before you spray. That fade, is not one. It looks like a terrible mistake. A couple of green panels with the gold stripe and practiced fade would have turned that paint job from zero to hero. Id backmask and respray the gold, then reclear. Curious why silver flake instead of the obvious choice....gold flake. Started with a Warick gun myself. Combo kit, great guns. Now I use Iwata.

      @HowToPaintYourCar  Před 7 lety

      hey bud, spray with higher pressure, ideally 29PSI at your gun trigger pulled. It also helps to know the proper gun speed. Try to lay it on WET as you spray. It also helps to spray with a good spray gun too. I recommend the ATOM X21: check it out here: www.zoolaa.com/ hope it helps!

    • @HowToPaintYourCar
      @HowToPaintYourCar  Před 7 lety

      I think you need to spray more clear on it. You are NOT laying enough clear coat.. Or your gun is not atomizing the clear (low pressure) could also be bad clear... all depends. VIP can help you get sorted out and spraying like a pro: vip.learnautobodyandpaint.com/exclusivevip

    • @HowToPaintYourCar
      @HowToPaintYourCar  Před 4 lety

      Usually and normally you wouldn’t put one coat of clear you’d put at least two. And it would also depend on how big your car is. How big is your car?
