    You may think this is boring to some, because you do it everyday. I find it facinating, it is some how relaxing for me to watch these trees come down, the power that excavator has to snap those good sized trees, removing all the debris, then plowing and grading to make a road, then the roadbond, and grading that out, and the road looks like it`s been there for years. I could watch you all day my friend, I live in S.E. Michigan in the suburbs, we don`t see this kind of equipment often, unless there fixing our trashed roads, keep em coming buddy.

    Nice video like the format was smooth and transitions were mint, watching excavators knock trees over can be boring you made it engaging your editing was really good.

    Thank you from Canada for making all these video’s. I have been following you for quite some time. Back before you had a skidsteer and were using your old excavator, Kubota tractor and your single axle Ford dump truck.
    It’s awesome to see how much you have grown!
    I’m in the same business myself, mind you on a much smaller scale. I just have a Case skidsteer and a small 3.5 ton Bobcat excavator myself. Watching how you execute your jobs helps me a lot in giving me confidence that I can tackle larger jobs. I do a lot of snow in the winter ( eastern Ontario ) so thinking about getting a backhoe to help with my road and snow work.

      Thank you so much Aaron!!! It’s easy to forget how long I’ve been making these videos but I’ll not forget that it’s the viewers and friends I’ve made on here that keep me motivated. I love the idea of compact equipment like you are using. Your business will show you what equipment it’s ready to acquire through customer demand.

      @@DigginLife21 thank you for the reply! I honestly didn’t expect you to read my comment.
      Definitely wish my area had more demand and less saturation of contractors as it sure is difficult to find work these days. I would love to meet you and spend a day helping you on a job and picking your brain. I’m 45 yrs old and nowhere near new to the industry ( being a former long haul truck driver and full time heavy equipment operator at a large landfill ). I keep watching your videos and love watching you figure out your projects and how you tackle them - if it’s not too much to ask, one day could you please do a video on how you find these jobs and how you market yourself to keep busy?
      I watched your old videos about gravel driveways and doing to leg work and knocking on doors, but it seems you have definitely evolved to having lots of work steadily available. I would much appreciate learning if there’s a technique to doing that with really limited resources.
      Best regards from Canada!

    Hi Todd. I have a problematic gravel driveway only a couple of miles from you. Your driveway building videos have answered a lot of questions about how to repair it. The land and driveaway were terraced out of the mountain with no slope on the property. Entirely level. I realize that your methods are dictated by the customer's budget. Some videos you just grade it out and spread road bond. Some videos you put down fabric and spread railroad ballast. Other videos you spread road bond and put 3/4 washed stone over the top of it. Other videos get road bond and then compact with a roller. Is there an ideal type of material layering? What order is best to keep the grass from taking over? Thank you in advance. Keep up the good work! PS. If you taught a dump truck class at AB Tech, I would take it.

    • @DigginLife21
      @DigginLife21  Před 8 měsíci

      Lots of factors but most commonly I just remove topsoil and put an 8-12 inch thick coat of road bond down

    • @DigginLife21
