Fixing Up a 1923 Effanbee Rosemarie Doll

  • This doll from 1923 has composition arms, legs, and head with a cloth body. I believe she is an Effanbee Rosemarie but she was sold to me as a Horseman Rosebud. If you are a doll ID experct please let me know who you think she is!

    I agree. Old books are much better than the internet. The internet seems to have much more on new plastic dolls and face ups. There were great doll books in the 70s-80s. Rosemary is a treasure! Wonderful condition for her age!

    You did a very nice job fixing up Rosemarie. I am not as familiar with this era of dolls but she sure looks like that picture you found. I agree that doll research from books can often be better than the internet. Her hair turned out beautiful. You breathed new life into her! Was her original dress salvageable to go with the shoes? Thanks so much for showing us!

      Her padding and cloth was clean so it really didn't need it. A lot of these old Compo dolls have nasty cloth though but not her
