So many great light tanks are honestly held back by being at a low BR, since they end up not getting scouting because of it
Yeah, the M22 should go up to Tier II, but because its second in the tree it gets dragged down by new players stumbling around in it.
The thing is.... The M22 locust used to be Tier 2 so it has the ability to scout. But for some reason the snail bumped it down to Tier 1 losing its ability to scout. It's the reason why I no longer play it because there are better light tanks that I can spam scout to earn a lot of assist

I did some test with the M22 and you could even kill a King Tiger if you can manage to stick shells in the back of the neck. Very small, but possible.
I killed my friend's M1A1 aims with it, I had to shoot his ammo to kill him
You can pen r the back of the neck with the sap-he
Here a fun fact if you machine gun out the side skirt or if you feeling real ratty there a small gap in the side armour where there no wheel or sproket it will always kill driver and machine gunner time to time a lot more consistent if not a bit annoying to aim for
You can also hide below the gun maximum depression to rub it in. The Tiger can do nothing to stop you unless his team are nearby.

And 95% of its players dont even use the machine gun aim option to angle its copula to the point it can laugh at apd/aphe and even 300-320mm pen heat

M22 is imo the ultimate stuart. Very vulnerable if done wrong, but fast and with a good penetration round
I miss the m22 being tier 2 and having scouting, also the gun or shells used to perform a little better if I remember right, but still by far my favourite tank in the game.
The AP used to deal a LOT more damage post penetration, and the SAP used to be proper HE which was incredibly useful against trucks and exposed crew.
Yeah, AP used to punch through 98mm of armor at 10m.
No wonder they were the bane of casemates.
However even 87mm pen at 10m isn't something to scoff at. That's still enough to punch through the sides of even most Heavy tanks. Only Russian Heavies from the IS-3 onwards be immune due to the armour layout.
I spaded my M22 at top tier only by scouting. It was amazing

The M22 to me seems best at taking out tank barrels because how small and fast the damn rat is

Spookston, you should play the L3/33 CC but cover yourself in bushes, but the catch is that you can’t shoot anyone unless they shoot at you, and your goal is to get to the enemies spawn and sit in front of it to watch them leave the spawn without them seeing you, or you can find a sneaky spot on a point and watch all your enemies look for you in vain and eventually give up.
If the M22 is a rat, then the M18 Hellcat is the giant rat that makes all of the rules.
I love using the crusader with the 6 pounder/57mm gun as a rat tank! 122mm of pen with the highest round
The 6 pdr is just amazing, it’s why the SARC Mk VI equipped with it is probably an even better light tank to uptier in a lineup than the Puma, there is the concept but the SARC also gets a low speed stab

My brother had an STA or STB bounce a heat round off the machine gun cowling. The angles on the turret can be very trolly and the low profile with good gun characteristics, handling/depression etc, make it great and a nightmare for IFVs etc
6 pounder is bae, if only Gajin would give it the APDS round that was developed for it, out pen a German 88 from twice the range cause kek.

Interesting fact about the m22 it was used a infantry support tank and would be brought in by glider to help paratroopers
The M22 only ever saw action once during Operation Varsity and it was used by the 6th Airborne Division of the British Army. They brought 8 in by glider, 6 made it to the LZ, 4 made it to the rendezvous point, and only 2 were completely undamaged by then. While it was designed and made by the USA we never used it in combat so really this should be in the British tree, or at least a copy of it.
There is room in the Universe for only 1 M22.
Spookston you should play the russian traktor tank destroyer, the Zis-30, its so hilarious to play with its wacky suspension and to use in an uptier day 22
My favourite use for the ZiS-30 is as EBR pest control, but also it's funny to imagine the anguish of German mains when their Tiger tanks gets front-penned by a tractor with a cannon stapled to it.
Fun fact the amx 13 fl-11 does not suffer reload penalties even if your loader is dead

One of my favorite gremlin tanks is the AML 90, the doom buggy. It goes pretty fast, has no armor, and 90mm heat
It would be fun to see a video were you use a versatile low tier tank, like the m22, and every round you use it in a 0.3 br higher game than the last, and see how far you can go

Speaking of gremlins, I was playing the Yestervark and I just gunned it to the other side to the map, wasn't long before I got there as the thing can go 89 km/h at top speed which is apparently easy to achieve on both concrete and dirt. I went so fast I once circled a map twice (the map was Carpathians) and there was many funny moments that kept me happy during my gameplay. Oh and also the Yestervark is very easy to aim.
you should play the ikv 103, it gets a insane HEATFS shell at only 4.0 and other cool features like neutral steering

On the topic of its reliability; the museum I volunteer at owned an M22 for many years. It ran once in the time we took custody of it, needed maintenance, and was (apparently) so much of a pain to work on that it sat in the back of the workshop until last year when we sold it to a private collector. Still miss that little thing ;-;

I always used to love the daimler AC as a low tier rat tank, basically locust but taller and wheeled. I remember getting a 17 kill, 0 death game on el Alamein purely while running around the town like a little gremlin boy
You should try the type 60 sprg. Its only bad side seems to be its horrendously low ammo count but that could make for a funny "Spookston suffers" video.

Yeah I think the twin guns will probably be the hardest to get used to. You really want to fire them separately in order to conserve ammo. Absolutely incredible with HESH though, with how easily you can overpressure. No armor, 5 ammo per gun, but otherwise it's amazing.

You're not alone on the Panzer II eating rounds on the test drive. I've fired US 90mm at it and the front plate track armor and the roadwheel on the upper plate both eat ANY shell you fire at it.
I've mentioned it before, but the Daimler armored car is a pretty similar tank for Britain. It's sort of an in-between for the M8 armored car and the Locust. Good mobility overall, relatively small. But the real nice part of it is the shoulder stabilized 2-pounder, which has slightly better AP, and also an APHE with actually decent performance compared to the 37mm SAPHE, and the reload for it considering the performance is INSANE. A good crew can reload it in less than 3 seconds.
I love bringing this to my 10.0 matches and sneaking up on pumas and other IFV

@Spookston, you should try the amx-13 (FL11). It is a monster at 4.0 with a medium velocity 75mm gun that uses M62, high speed, remarkable fire on the move capability and volumetric made the armor super janky so you can bounce shots that should kill you

You're 100% correct about the Pz 2, they have buggy frontal armor that often isn't penned by solid shot. If I had a dollar for every shot at a Pz 2 that didn't pen, I could afford the IS-7.

Pretty sure they used it at D-day as airborne armor and it attracted so much anti tank fire they claimed it as a danger to the infantry and other personnel around it
at 2.0 i actually load the SAP round before the AP because most of what you fight is BT-7s and other weak armored stuff that dies in 1 hit from the SAP. very funny to use

I have a suggestion for you: step back in medium tank territory and play the regular chinese Type 69
Basically a T-55 but with a slightly better engine, LRF, dual stab, no APHE but HEAT and a kinda weak but workable APFSDS round... all while being 8.0

Unnecessary reminder that KV-1S and variants with same hull have massive hull side armour weakspots around the turret ring, clocking in at something like 40mm of RHA. You can bully with some autocannon SPAAs and definitely with a locust by abusing that.
