    This song is timeless, it never ages. There’s always something that speaks to each generation. Freddie never said what the words meant to him. He wanted people to find their own message, their own meaning, and they have. It’s a masterpiece. Very few people can hear this and remain unmoved. With all of the emotion Freddie poured into it, I can still find tears in my eyes.

    Actually, Queen is a British rock band created in 1971, consisting of:
    Freddie Mercury - Lead singer and piano
    Brian May - Lead guitarist and singer
    Roger Taylor - Drummer and singer
    John Deacon - Bass guitarist
    They were 4 extremely talented musicians who not only performed but wrote all their own music. Each member of Queen has had hit singles. Freddie Mercury wrote and orchestrated Bohemain Rhapsody which is actually 3 separate songs that he had been working on but could not seem to finish. He got the idea to put them all together, adding transistions and bridges and it became a classic. Ir was recorded in 1975 for Queen's album, A Night At The Opera.

    • @corylemaire3593

      Debra, there were a few songs that was written by others for queen. For example, "Under Pressure" was written by David Bowie.

    • @KitsyX
      @KitsyX Před 3 lety

      @@corylemaire3593 Well, David Bowie helped write it, but it apparently came about from them all jamming about on a song called Feel Like that was originally written by Roger, then later morphed into Under Pressure as they all messed about with it... I forget the exact story.

    • @abdulbah2176
      @abdulbah2176 Před 3 lety

      @@KitsyX also Deaky came up with the bass line and when they went out for pizza he forgot about it but Roger remembered

    • @maartenbakker8311
      @maartenbakker8311 Před 3 lety

      Freddie was actually becoming a graphical designer (fashion, no websites back then of course).
      Roger was actually a beginning dentist
      Brian was actually an astrophysicist (and still is)
      John is actually an electrical engineer
      But when Queen started to become popular (from 1974), you can imagine them spending their time on something else.
      Queen broke through in the UK with their album "Queen II" (1974), and broke through in the rest of the world with "Killer Queen" at the "Top of the Pops" at the BBC, somewhat later in that year, Killer Queen is launched as single and on the album "Sheer Heart Attack". It is since their Live Aid concert (biggest rock concert, in 1985) that Queen became widely known for their performances and qualities.
      Bohemian Rhapsody was first released on the album "A Night at the Opera" (released in 1975 as their fourth album) where nearly every number has become a hit at least once. But Bohemian Rhapsody followed soon after as single for the album (there was some controversy around it to release it as a single, yes or no). It lead to their first golden long-playing record.
      I really like Queen.
      Please correct me if I'm wrong by the way.

    Amazing fact about Queens' lead guitarist Brian May. He was actually working on getting his Ph.D in astrophysics when Queen was formed. Music meant so much to him so he put his doctorate on the back burner. After Freddie Mercury died, Queen disbanded. Even while still part of the group Brian and his father designed and built a new kind of guitar. Brian's IQ has been measured in the 160's. That's even beyond Big Bang Theory smart. So he was a real genius on top of being a musical genius. after Queen disbanded, Brian went back to working toward his doctorate. He finally got it in 2006 or 7. He's now Dr. Brian May Ph.D. He's also written about 6 books on the subject of astrophysics.

    Freddie Mercury was the lead singer of Queen. He was in his 20s for this song , had graduated from college. He was born in1946 the song was about 1974 or so.He was born in Zanzibar to a Parsee ( Zoroastrian) family, a group driven from Persia over a thousand years ago. Although Indian/ British subjects, his cultural & ethnic roots. were Persian.
    They migrated to England when he was 18, due to a violent revolution which made Zanzibar part of Tanzania. The Indian & Arab residents had 6 months to get out. The other members of Queen were all English born.

    Awesome song! Must be over 40 years old now (holy crap! It’s official. I’m old). Just a heads up, the band is called ‘Queen’ the lead singers name is Freddy Mercury, brilliant vocalist and musical genius, the whole band are musical geniuses and academics. There is a movie about them. You should check it out, shows their ups and downs, a great watch.
    Stay classy sweetheart!😁
