  • I flow heads after milling them. I then valve job the head and flow it after and I also show you how the LS3 heads flow compared to a 243LS head.

Holy shit,, I thought I was the only one who thought this way!! If I want sweet I will eat candy!! The other thing is Citrus. It does NOT belong on meat 🍖 or any other food cooked over a flame!!! If I want citrus flavor I’ll eat an orange, I don’t want my chicken to taste like an orange or lemon for that matter. I’m with you 100% on the food. Eddie wheels 😬🧑🏻‍🦽👍

Eric Weingartner your rant is spot on. On any steak just a sprinkle of kosher salt and a sprinkle of pepper on the medium cooked beauty and THAT'S IT!!! And whoever douses their meats with A1 or any other BBQ crap sauces needs a back slap with a welding glove.
My wife is a chef and she laughed with your rant. She makes some killer sauces that would make you forget about ever going to another restaurant. I do not like blue cheese for wings, not on a salad or anything else but I do like Red Robins Black 'N Blue burger.

The small block Chevy has more development time invested into the aftermarket stuff and is very underestimated when compared to the LS . The LS actually is designed a lot after the Ford heads. Lol

Maybe you could do/say something about the pad at/around the spark plug hole. Most head has one. Some are big, others are small, some heads have none. What is the purpose of it? Have you tried grinding it out or shape it in any way, have any luck at shaping it?

That is way too cheap. Stock cheap valves run $180. Then you still have to valve job them at least an hour labor. A good port job takes about 30-40 hours if by hand. If cnc machine maybe 4hours. Someone is giving away their work or just going for volume.

I have a old sioux valve grinder like that. Mine is a model??? 657? If I remember right? It's not in working order. But all of it is there. I want to improve it with a chuck like what you have there & then just try to figure out how it all goes back together. I've used them before & I love them. Never used a quickway but some reading I have dun the personal opinion of the author of the article was the quick way was alil more precise with making it concentric?? Don't know? For what I do, im sure this old sioux will be just fine. I'm in Iowa & these things can be found alot at farm auctions. I bought mine just from a local mechanic shop in town. No body uses them anymore like in the old days. Farmers don't work on there tractors like they used too. Mechanics shops seem to replace engines or heads now instead of rebuilding. Even high schools used to teach this in shop classes. Not anymore. So schools were selling them as well.

Interesting results from the milling. I wouldn’t have guessed there’d be any difference at 0.018”. Someone a few minutes ago asked about variation, I’d ask the same about repeatability from one test to the next. If you take the head off the flow bench, then turn around and test again, how close is it? Overall I’m thinking these heads will be just about perfect for a street engine with a cam designed for a stock converter. Thanks for covering everything on the head work/valve job!
