Whatsapp was banned years ago in China and like all apps banned in China, fear of spying which is reality, its because China does not want their people to access outside info. China outlaws the ability for its people to document and share events and such within China but more so outside of China and with western controlled apps, they dont have that control. So yes, US is doing what China is doing hence the double standard that china can do it without criticisms but US does it with evidence why but US are evil and its ok to flood Tiktiok sheeps with ad's telling them to riot/protest which is a msg from the Chinese gov, not a businessman which that alone should prove why tiktok would be 100% US ran within the US. The country of China applies many controls to external Western companies with the storage of data and their national security laws, what we should do is just apply their laws against their companies to level the playing field. This would mean that a third party in the United States would control the application and the data and byte dance would not be able to access either one of these without that third party's permission subject to audits from external entities certified by the federal government. There's no reason to ban a corporation regardless of whether it's Chinese linked or not.

China produces goods cheaply for many reasons and many of the reasons is pretending they are a developing country (which has a space program and the world's largest navy and many mega cities) so they can get free shipping which is all paid for by US taxpayers for China to ship to the US for free to low cost and if i recall, this funding also pays for the EU and other 3rd world nations. This also causes harm to local shippers like USPS when they deliver millions of orders from China with free shipping putting a strain on your local mail services. China produces goods in harmful ways which makes for cheaper production which harms 100s of millions of Chinese people all over China and this isnt the west doing it, this is the Chinese people and their gov doing it.
