- Made from the 12'' version. Its not exactly like the original but its very close. Edit you may have seen this on other channels but this is where you heard it first. I don't make a single penny this. To the people that stole my video i'm not angry as i was the 1st person to make it and have many more views.
To everyone who's watched it this where you heard the unofficial instrumental version first.
Lyrics Below.
Sending you forget me nots
To help me to remember
Baby please forget me not
I want you to remember
Those were the times we had
Sharing the joy that we thought would last
Memories of love and affection
Never really was just like a dream
Was it the simple things
That made me so crazy about you?
Was it your charm or your passion?
It's not hard to believe
I love you and I need you so I'm
Sending you forget me nots
To help me to remember
Baby please forget me not
I want you to remember
Sending you forget me nots
To help me to remember
Baby please forget me not
I want you to remember
Did we give up too soon?
Maybe we needed just a little room
Wondering how it all happened
Maybe we just need a little time
Though we did end as friends
Given the chance we could love again
She'll always love you forever
It's not hard to believe
I want you and I need you so I'm
Sending you forget me nots
To help me to remember
Baby please forget me not
I want you to remember
Sending you forget me nots (forget me nots)
To help me to remember
Baby please forget me not (forget me not)
I want you to remember
Sending you forget me nots
Baby please forget me not
Good times we had (sending you forget me nots)
They weren't so bad
What a life we shared (baby please forget me not)
Pretty baby I still care
Sending you forget me nots
To help me to remember
Baby please forget me not

Now that you mention it, the claps do kinda sound like will smith smacking someone.
It’s not men in black fucktard, it’s forget me knots.

I love that bass line! 1980’s music is so chill, I would of loved to live back then..

From Wikipedia: "Forget Me Nots" is a song co-written and performed by American R&B musician Patrice Rushen. The song appears on Rushen's seventh album Straight from the Heart (1982). Making a radical shift in her music, Rushen would continue to harness the particular style of this record all through to her next album Now (1984). Originally deemed by record label executives as a "flop", the song became a Top 40 pop (#23), Top 5 R&B (#4), and Top 5 dance (#2) hit on the Billboard charts and is the hit for which she is best known.
The single's success culminated in Rushen scoring her first nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1983 Grammy Awards. Rushen had a number of songs on the R&B and Dance charts, but "Forget Me Nots" was her only US Top 40 pop hit and ranked #85 on VH1's 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 1980s in 2009.
The bassline is particularly recognizable, and was performed on the record by session bass player Freddie Washington.
The classic tenor saxophone solo was played by Los Angeles session player and recording artist, Gerald Albright. Albright also appears in the music video of the song.
The lyrics are from the point of view of one professing her longing for a rekindling with an ex-lover. She ruminates on the romance's end, and sends the lover forget-me-nots, a flower that since medieval times has been given and worn to symbolize enduring love despite absence or separation. Released April 2, 1982.
Yeah me to
No one is stopping you from listening to and making music like that right now. The early 80s weren't that great. Especially with music there was far less to choose from, lots of really shitty pop music, proper high fi was unaffordable and finding people with the same taste in music as you super hard.
You would easily have thought there could never be anything better. But even during that time, as a kid, I thought earlier music was better.
The BEST BASS LINE OF ALL TIMES 🎸
Yeahh!
That keyboard got me. Simple but captivating.
Fender Rhodes.
I was born in the late 90s but, I love 80s music.
I need this as my theme music whenever I go out the door.
Same man! This is insanely cool.
Out The Door To Do What?
I'm turning 16 next year and I found out this song a few months ago and I love it!! That bass line is awesome. 80s music are definitely worth it to listen to.
@Sac Ramento I'm also 20 bro, will turn 21 this year; and I'm loving this bassline like crazy.
@@shaswatadutta4451 SUS. I believe they said sixteen, not twenty.
You will find talent in ALL generations esp musically
Funky! ❤
I'm 15 and also love this song, the bass line and the sax, I found it on my own
i just see myself roller skating with this song playing
Most iconic bass line ever
Cher Lynn vibes
Amen to that!
Freddie Washington’s bass guitar playing on this song is a gift to humanity!
Why does the instrumental feel like something daft punk would sample?
get lucky !!
It‘s in her BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix from the 90‘s
Daft punk samples disco-funk 90% of the time for their French house songs. I don’t doubt that they have a daft punk bootleg of this song somewhere on their hard drives
Sounds like Justice tbh
Feels like something will smith would sample
All night!!!!
80’s the best!!!!!!!!
This tune can't die ♥️
1:49 that Bass riff makes this song all the more badass!
As does 3:07
And that keyboard during the chorus.
i just walk and shine with this
Love it when it came out and Freddie Washington’s bass line is genius followed by the superb saxophonist Gerald Albright who is a very lovely man.
The melody of the bass line in the hook is melodic af, definitely the highlight
This is so perfect! 1980s was golden.
The music of the 80s I WILL ALWAYS LOVE IT‼ ️‼ ️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵 Year 2021
Amazing base guitar .
The best bass line ever Freddie « ready » Washington, sax by Gerald Albright 👍🏻👍🏻
Men in black !! 👌🏾
Galaxy Defender!
Bass playing on this track is incredible but it’s the beautiful chorus tinged Rhodes electric piano 🎹 that gives this song its soul.
Im saving up for a mk1 Fender Rhodes piano.
You’re so lucky. I’d love a Rhodes.
@@euanthepianoboy Nothing beats the sound of a Fender Rhodes. When i get one im using it on a song im working on.
All I wanted was the name of this song, so i wanna thank me for finding it and to everyone who didn't give me the name, I hope have a warm pillow on both sides tonight.
This music is on 🔥!
It's good enough for me to rock to. I needed this today.
Nobody will ever need to wear Forget-Me-Not plant from You Tube or Guys like Mr. David, simply because they are unforgettable & unparalleled.
I write to some of the best instrumental music. Makes my mind go all over!!!❤👍🏾🔥🔥🔥
This is my dad's favourite bass line to play

WOW...tons of memories just flooding in! I really feel bad for people that didn't grow up in the 80s. There will never be another time like it. Especially the music!
Now that's a combination. Freddie Washington. Gerald Albright. Add Patrice Rushen's vocals and what do you get? AN INSTANT CLASSIC! Thank you all!

"Ready" Freddie Washington"s immortal bassline. How he felt this is beyond comprehension.
So this where Will Smith got his stuff from, timeless

I was born in early 2000s but dang the 80s must’ve been awesome!

Strong! 🔥 ❤️
Lets get it to 200k +. I know how much people like this.
Pretty cool, thanks.
I can never, ever get enough of that bass line.
Nice, but you just jumped right into the action. With that initial "clap-clap" there is a 32 count with just keyboard and drum, telling you to get ready. Then that killer bass and "tweet tweet tweet" comes in saying get up, Get Up! You could have left that initial 32 count intro in. Trying to catch it right on that 33rd count was a bit awkward, but you did a great job. Forget Me Nots is really a great song and this version is good for karaoke, but have to say with Patrice Rushen this song is a masterpiece.
I couldn't find a high enough quality version at the time. I suppose i could EQ that part and add it. What made me do instrumentals is that without the singer you can hear every instrument in more detail and love the sound of them. I do agree it's good for karaoke because it almost sounds genuine and cheap karaoke versions sound terrible.
May 5, 2024💪🏽🔥🎶🎵👟👟STILL SLAPS!!!
Thanks Acevane for reminding me about this banger 🤣
I will most definitely acknowledge (on my CZcams channel) the maker of this SUPERB #ForgetMeNots instrumental if and when or as soon as I am done with my cover of this Patrice Rushen classic.

Wow I never knew will smith sampled this for men and black
@kiyonexus at least his raps are clean
Will Smith, Ice Cube and Puff Daddy are known to sample other people's songs
@@I-speak-U-shut-it every single rapper / hip hop producer is known to sample? That's how hip hop started
The actual song was in the movie BIG with Tom Hanks.
It’s the same melody & cadence too for the lyrics. I hope these musicians, including Patrice, got royalties. So good.
