    ABOUT Dr. Katie Woodley - The Natural Pet Doctor
    =====
    Dr. Katie Woodley, BVSc, GDVCHM, cVMA, is the proud owner and holistic veterinarian of The Natural Pet Doctor. After watching her own husband develop an autoimmune disease and be told there was nothing they could do other than strong immunosuppressive medications, Dr. Katie went down the path of holistic medicine. Becoming certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine changed everything for her pet patients. She started The Natural Pet Doctor after being in the conventional vet world for over 10 years to provide pet parents with more resources for natural medicine advice and care so they had all of the options. Her mission is to ensure that all pet parents have access to herbal medicine, supplementation, and nutritional advice throughout their pet's lifetime that helps them thrive rather than just survive. Dr. Katie offers online education through her courses, CZcams channel, Facebook, and Instagram.

    This is incredible. I wanted some guideline to help with types of foods and quantity to feed having recently started home cooking. But this adds another level. Almost a guarantee, that you are hitting all your key vits and minerals. I just ove the website, and your presentation.

    Thank you for the information on balance it and also your heartworm video. Priceless. Had a brief question on the balance it once I batch my recipe how do I calculate the amount fed at each feeding assuming two feedings a day.
    Thanks

    Thanks for this great info. Where do usually can buy organ like heart or liver. I have been feeding my cat for two years just with organic chicken breast or Tuna but I haven’t been added any mineral or vitamins. So I have been doing wrong 😢

    Thank you Dr. Katie! What is the name of the hair, skin & miners testing that you mentioned please? Also, do you have a video about your favorite dog supplements to use? Thanks 🙏

      It's called a HTMA test. We offer this test along with nutritional and supplement recommendations that follow food therapy principles. You can check it out here: thenaturalpetdoctor.com/shop/holistic-pet-nutritional-plan/

    Very useful information thank you!! Do you have a recommendation for protein, fat, and carb ratios for a dog diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy? My dog is otherwise very healthy. I am currently feeding my dog a recommended diet but I am concerned that it may be high in carbs. 27% protein, 36%fat, and 36% carb. carbs are from brown rice and sweet potato.

    This is not what I get when I log into balance it. There is no “auto balancer” option. There is no ingredient list to choose from. Just a bunch of high carb options and a push to sell their supplements.
    Is there a secret to getting these options?

      Thanks for reaching out! It looks like the website has been redone since this video was filmed a few years ago. We'll have to look into it!

    Problem with this site is the weight only goes up to 100lbs. What about the dogs are over that? I have a 125lb dog and because this site doesn’t go up to that amount, I along with other giant dog owners cannot use it.

    This is way to complicated this video is making me even more stressed out. Is there not any decent food you can buy for a cat?? I don't get it!

    The problem with Balance It for felines is that you cannot get recipes with just meat. You cannot customize it that way, they want to add potatoes, pumpkin vegetable matter. Sorry cats are obligate carnivores they don't eat potatoes and pumpkin. So if you ever decide to use just meat for felines in your recipes maybe I might go back to you, but until then, no way. And vets are "paid" just like drug reps do at doctors offices, they get perks for using Rx Hills, R. Canin so vet approved is nonsense. Vets don't learn about nutrition just like regular doctors, they only band aid the symptoms, not addressing the real issue.

      I make meat only recipes with their software for my cats using the carnivore blend. It works fine
