[HD] Riding the NEWEST TransLink Bus Route: 80 Marine Drive Express

Hello, and welcome back to the channel!
Now that we are done exams and final papers, we can resume regular uploads.
We begin this resumption with a ride on the NEWEST route on the TransLink system, route 80 Marine Drive Express. The 80 is a new express route along Marine Drive connecting River District and Marine Drive Station. It runs during peak hours only in both directions every 30 minutes.
This ride was on an NFI D40LF. Appearances are generally rare for them on this route as there are only 4 blocks allocated to service on route 80 per day.
Personally I hope the relationship between the 80 and 100 becomes more like the 502/503 in Surrey, or like the R4/41 relationship in Vancouver with both options providing frequent service throughout the day.

The 70+ passengers waiting for the 100 can’t be bothered to sprint all the way to bay 1 at marine drive station!
In other words, it was the wrong decision on TransLink to split the 80 and 100 when really they should be sharing the same stop. These small things make a huge difference.
