[HD] EXCLUSIVE Double Decker Front View of Route 394 White Rock Ctr Express
Right place at the right time. Not even 2 weeks into the year of 2024 and we get the catch of the year. This extremely rare occurrence happened in January 2020 as the fleet was in the recovery process after a snowstorm. This is a classic case of a bus (2019 Alexander Dennis Enviro500 #19403) used to provide the service rather than not having a bus available at all.
Later that month, appearances of double decker units occurred on the 640 in the middle of yet another snowstorm.
Route 394 is an express overlay to route 321 King George to White Rock/Surrey Central via Newton. It was introduced in 1997 to neutralize the cancellation of route 353 between Ocean Park and 22nd Street Station.

Lets take it
18:28 this is now an articulated route, bringing the total to 6 at UBC. 49, 99, 44/84, 25 and R4.
Zeiw
Seeing this bizarre fleet operation, how many routes have proper double decker height clearance? The bus itself has a height of 4.13m, so adding a few percent of redundancy for the tires, every section needs to be 4.35m or higher for double decker to run.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Very nice!
There where also articulated buses on the 412 as well at that time only because some parts where clear
+ suburban units on the 49; I rode 9282 or something on that route in winter 2022
Seeing this, How many routes have proper double decker height clearance?
My first video of my summer
Note! If you need 130, and see a 28, take the 28 first and change at Hastings at kootenay. I promise I just saved someone time.
That’s like the 320 in fleetwood lol if you’re along Fraser highway make your way to 156th and you get twice better service
trolly bus better
For those interested in signalling, Hitachi Rail has acquired the ground transportation division of Thales effective May 2024.
unrelated but 24007 just went in service
i'm the first person to ever take a photo of 24007 👍🏻😁
@@thyssenFILMS well we know now that the bus entered service on time. 24k series should be 2024, future 25 and 26k series in 2025 and 2026, and so on.
@@nich-nk2cr No, 2025 XDE60 order don’t exist, and I’m not sure on whether a 2026 order exists either
@@thyssenFILMS the point was that the bus number should match the year batch.
That bus loop looks so confusing 😂 Have they ever thought of putting 60 ft. buses on the 222 & 130? They seem to be the most packed routes
Honestly! They both seem worse than the R2 some days.
My kid has used this with his dad. he’s a trainspotter of 2020. and thanks for posting this! You scared him with the door close at 00:01:07
The 8000 Series sounds more like a Class 465

i take the 17 downtown/oak bus the most
Is it easy to get around Richmond using public transportation? I don't plan on renting a car so public transportation would be my only means to get around. How reliable is it? Is the city walkable?
I will say that outside the Canada Line, certain corridors are better off: 406 (Railway) 410 (Cambie) are decent if you’re staying away from the city center. Drawbacks: going across town without going through the city center, and Ironwood gets messy when there is a Highway 99 accident Other than that, I can’t be any more specific.
How come it has two yield signs on it?
Because one’s not enough & probably people can’t understand basic signs lol

Bro its 2020 dec 31 its not 2020 dec 25 or 13 okay dude!
I saw the 22005 on Sunday in lonsdale quay
I think, that all american and canadian cities, where tracklesses were closed, must return this kind of transport. It's best type of public transport ever, and trolleybus lines dismantle - very big mistake, which made more than 70 cities of North America
Yeah this might not be my best video but recently TransLink put out an RFI/RFP for 500+ trolleys with charging capabilities.
The 169 does not run on g5s it run on c40lfrs!
only true on weekends/holidays
After all, "GTO VVVF inverter" sounds good. I want to go to Vancouver again and listen to it.
Ahhh I can hear a mark 1 at the end. The best train on the skytrain system
UPDATE: MASSIVE RFP was sent out today for 600+ equivalent 40ft trolley units. The base order is for up to 107 40ft units along with 201 40ft units and 204 artics. I have videos scheduled for upload but the longer the Canucks are in the playoffs the longer this may have to wait.

Great video! It's pretty wild just how busy the network is in Surrey, definitely needs massive new investments to keep the residents of Surrey moving!
I definitely agree with a Langley Transit Centre being necessary to be built. Good video. It was interesting to see what they did with this route. Though, I believe adding enough buses to make a 15-minute frequency 15 hours a day (so it is in the FTN) was more important than to introduce 60-foot articulating buses. I don't like how the 84 had a cut in frequency during off-peak in exchange for larger buses.
Guess that point wasn’t made clear enough: Since January 2023 the 323 has qualified for FTN frequencies. The current schedule from 6am-10pm 7 days a week is every 15 minutes or more.
this video has a very chill vibe to it, I like it
ive never seen a d60lfr on the r1 ever maybe once but otherwise never
They are now common along with C40LFR’s
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Which of your city's bus routes are experiencing the effect of induced demand? I'll mention a couple that I think are experiencing it: 35 Jane (Toronto) M15 125 Street (New York)
Did TransLink receive all 57 units yet? Curious to know how many they have right now.
All 57 received as of May 17 2023. Expecting 6 more by 2026.
@@jmstransit and these are all in the Richmond barn? Wonder if these will replace the Nova Express buses they have there.
Barn? That’s a first. Suburban Novas and deckers were simultaneously brought in to replace the Orions.
What happened at the beginning where you couldn’t hear the first phase of the motor?
To be quite honest, the hype for the 95 Blink RapidBus was underwhelming. I was hoping that they would actually have a separate colour scheme for their eventual RapidBus system. But nope, they're following the footsteps of the B-Line was by using regular conventional buses with the regular colour scheme to operate the route. I was quite disappointed with the hype.
It’s gonna look so weird to see 60 ft. buses on the 25 lol
Your worst fear is gate way man they il get you
last chance to catch these white boxes, 2 have already retired in the past few months. them being 7443 and 7445
Hot take: the community acts like the 7 units were the only ones to ever exist. It’s game over when I figure out how to upscale my older footage to 60fps.

I love how there’s no red light at the back of the first train that left 😂
Should have built pedestrian underpasses instead of having cross walk in the bus loop. With the amount of people using that transit exchange crossing in the loop delays buses as well as its not the safest thing.
I mean it's the busiest bus loop in western Canada and I don't think that's a behavior one would be 100% successful at fixing. If anything, I think the previous setup along wesbrook was fairly organized. Nobody was trying to cut across the road. I also think the centre barrier is doing a wonderful job at deterring people from crossing the west side of the loop instead of the curved fence path where the R4 is. I also never see anyone going to UBC for the sole purpose of changing buses compared to something like Phibbs Exchange or Newton Exchange. But that's just me.
We’re does the bus stop if you want to go to the Canucks farm team games at the abbsford event centre and how far do they stop near the arena I look into that and I could not find it
I have a friend who works there and uses the 66. The stop is at McCallum park and ride, which according to google maps is a 7 minute 500m walk away. 66 service to Lougheed cuts off around 7:50pm which isn't good for Abby Canucks games.
I notice that I would have spend the night there and get that bus back in the morning at a hotel wich I see there some near by
I wish I went to Canada to see those buses…..
The 44 is now VTC operated?
All-day runs and select PM trips.
