    Fire And Ice will always be my favorite Malmsteen album. The songwriting is incredible, and Yngwie's solos are so perfect, and he plays some very interesting phrases. AND HIS TONE! This is my favorite guitar tone EVER! Goran Edman sounds Amazing as well.

    Well hear it goes, for several years I've been wanting to say this. Leviathan and Perpetual are two of Yngwie's greatest instrumentals ever!! I wished he would play this instead of Black Star and Far Beyond the Sun. I love them also but I've seen him countless times and never got to see these performed live. Simply stunning, it's amazing to me how beautiful these songs are.

      This comment was made a long time ago, but I still agree wholeheartedly! Always have. I love his music from the first album to Parabellum, but Leviathan and Perpetual are incredibly beautiful.

    @blackstar6938 Very well put! I saw Yngwie when he was with Steeler, Alcatrazz before Rising Force and no one knew what hit them back in 1983. He was the H-Bomb of guitars and he dropped it in Los Angeles, the people were stunned! Guitarists went back to re-learn guitar.

    outstanding and overachieving its great unlimited range of journey-nothing impresses me more than a full epic production of neoclassical heavy metal with such really hardcore passion and drive into my very soul-heady stuff

    @ ibanezxz500, I couldn't agree with you more! Alot of American guitarist felt threatend when Yngwie first arrived on the scene in the early 80's. Because he wasn't bowing down to EVH and other established shredders of that period, he was considered arrogant. Arrogance and confidence are two different things, Yngwie was confident of his talent and went for it, never bowing to commercial air time.

    Leviathan was the second Malmsteen song I've heard in my life...I immediately fell in love with it. Fire and Ice was the first, and that blew my mind to pieces.

    I first heard leviathan on a compilation CD entitled GUITARS THAT RULE THE WORLD. They asked several h🔥t guitarists to contribute a work to the cause. This is what yngwie offered. The whale-singing-volume swells I think are somewhat unusual in his music. Great song. But, did anyone else notice he's playing something else in the video, not leviathan, or so it seems to me 😂 cheers!

  • @perpetual61

    First of all Yngwie is in a Class all by Himself. Most Guitarist Players that Many are into are either Rock, Blues, Jazz not Neo-Classical like Yngwie. Also his Name Many are also Named Jimi, Eddie, Stevie not Yngwie. I take someone like Him Who is Neither Ordinary and Simple But who is Brilliant just the Same.

    One of his FINAL GREAT SONGS...not played due to the unusual drum pattern...few drummers can maintain the tight changes in the rhythm and timing, and with malmsteen out of control- it would be a disaster live. In my opinion his greatest and final song of the 90's.

    • @sergeykras4599

  • @Whackooyzero
    @Whackooyzero Před 14 lety +1

    @janderson2000 So he's not allowed to like shred? I am an absolute huge fan of Roth and Malmsteen and I'll tell you point blank that this "70's" guitar elitism is in a word annoying. I would just as quickly listen to Jeff Beck as I would Malmsteen, and I hear equal amounts of emotion in both and fail to see how either could possibly lack it. Malmsteen is lightning speed yes, but why does that make someone tasteless? The guy obviously can play strong melodies which you would know if you listened.
