MOST OF THE BUSH PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO MORDERNIZED, I DONT BLAME THEM, WHEN YOU MODERNIZE? YOU DESTROY NATURAL HABITATS AND THEN MORE CHEMICAL WASTE END UP DUMPED IN THE RIVERS AND OCEANS. To me, it's just road and green landscapes. Apparently, it's a big deal in other places. I mean in Ibadan if you visit IITA, MOOR, NIHORT, U.I and a host of other places, you'll see scenes like this. In Ogun state, you'll also see several campuses like this. I guess because it's so common, we don't really appreciate it. It looks ordinary to us. Apparently, it's extraordinary to foreigners.

    Great job!
As an architect who's lived in Abuja for 24 yrs I know a bit abt the d city. Designed by Kenzo Tange, it was intentionally conceived to be different from any other African capital cities. Abuja is patterned after Brasilia, the capital of Brazil.
Both were planned and developed as purpose-built capital cities, with similar architectural and urban design principles.
Both use geometric designs, wide boulevards, and spacious green areas.
There's a deliberate building development policy to limit the number of floors in residential and mixed-use areas to a max of 4. Development Control, the government agency saddled with the responsibility of apply ensuring building codes and zoning are enforced also limits the number of floors in the CBD (Central Business District) as well. So don't expect to see very tall skyscrapers as in other cities. The intent is to spare the city the problems and challenges that come with skyscrapers.
The residential and mixed-use areas, however have seen rapid developments with new estates, gated neighborhoods and commercial plazas, most of which AT cannot see in one visit.
Abuja is continuously growing with new phases and layouts opening up. Katamkpe Ext., Asokoro Ext., Maitama Ext., Life camp new layout, Idu where the train metro station is situated...and the list goes on and on.
Truth is, for residences, the best of Abuja are no longer in Asokoro, Maitama, Wuse or Jabi. There are grander, bigger, better houses as stand-alone structures or in gated estates in many other areas. Abuja is phenomenal place and its beauty and calm candor is just beginning to unfold. Enjoy your stay AT.

Hello, I live in Guyana south America. We see ourselves as Caribbean even though we're not touching the Caribbean basing. Recently I've been watching a lot of African CZcams channels only to realize that the TRUTH/ BEAUTY of Africa has been hidden from us. A great joy bubbles in me when ever I view videos like this, I feel connected to Africa 🌍
Thanks to you and others who highlight the truth of my dear mother land AFRICA! Love and pray for you all.

The enormously broad roads, tree lined streets, moderate sized yet beautiful structures, fancy restaurants and leisure spots, cleanliness and most importantly orderliness is just something that makes this city truly attractive.

The UK has a budget of over £800bn for less than 50 million people. Same story repeats across Europe. China, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, etc. I am not bashing Nigeria just putting things in perspective.

She has been to Uyo, Port Harcourt, and Lagos!
She has even visited a village in Akwa Ibom!
As one of her subscribers, I joined as far back as 4 years ago when she visited Uganda!

True talk brother. I just brushed their posts aside. The only problem is that they don't know the evil their are doing by portraying Nigeria in bad lights.

Abuja is a true definition of sustainable urban planning and development...the master plan is strictly obeyed here compare to other state capitals, The Aesthetics is top notch.

We barely play international matches there. Often times we use the Birds nest stadium at Uyo

Don't mind that lady, she doesn't know what she's saying, Uyo stadium is better than Abuja stadium by far in terms of pitch quality and other sophisticated facilities. ABUJA stadium only has the size advantage for being the biggest stadium in Nigeria and west Africa, but Uyo stadium is the overall best stadium in Nigeria and in west Africa

Anyone notice ever since Nigeria relocated it's capital from Lagos to Abuja in 1991 we've stopped having militiary coups, the City was designed to prevent such takeovers and to secure the government of the day and its structure. That was one of the major purpose of the creation of a new capital.

Most of our content creators and CZcamsrs are not doing justice by showcasing the true beauty of ABJ city, they all think that Abuja is mainly for political reasons
