  • Recorded December 9, 1911 (less than 11 months after the opera's premiere!). The conductor is not known.
The Neues Tonkünstler-Orchester was an ensemble based in Berlin in the years immediately preceding the first world war. Judging from the discography at CHARM they recorded a mixture of the classics with contemporary composers of their time (mainly Strauss).
Some of the ensemble's listed recordings of Strauss list Bruno Seidler-Winkler as the conductor, so it is possible that he was conducting here as well. As the recordings of the Neues Tonkünstler Orchester stopped after 1913 (again according to the CHARM discography; there may be other recordings not listed there), I assume that either they stopped recording due to war and conscription, or that they continued under a different name.
