- Predicting the new meta is part of the fun, thankfully corrosive cold is already good so make it even better. Didn't use nourish in the video but use that with the torid for viral as well! Overall a huge buff and alot more fun than how cold proc's are.

Cold is already really good. I’ve been using corrosive and cold on my bubonico for months now and it’s been the best primer/ad clear weapon I’ve ever used. This setup plus my chroma can one shot level 9999 without full armor strip using bubonico to prime and strip and hit them with any glaive. I prefer pathocyst do to it being the hardest hitting glaive at base. After this change this set up will be stupid. I won’t even need to prime. I’ll just throw my glaive at a level 9999 and poof gone. As of now I am hitting hundreds of millions to billions with a single throw without full strip. This is about to make the game even more brain dead then it already is 😂🎉
Not sure if the 50% crit dmg is what pushes dmg to wreck lvl cap. I think your claim lean towards glorifying Glaive more than cold. Armor strip will reign supreme when it comes to delivering high numbers for most cases in lvl cap. If you remove armor strip and Glaive from your claimed situations, cold is okay as it's not a stat that function as easily with any generic weapon such as viral or heat due to the need of critical chance synergy.
I love my glaive prime it does most of the work for me most of the time

One thing to note, the crit damage is a flat additive 1x mod, not a percentage multiplier, so you'd go from 5x to 6x against a frozen enemy.
underrated comment, this is why it really isn't all that strong even when doubled. It also doesn't work against enemies, where you would need the damage. it's not like 9999 fodder enemies are already swatted like flies in our crossfire.
While unable to use Shivering Contagion, the Hound's Repo Audit mod, Synergized Prospectus, Manifold Bond, and Contagious Bond makes it one of the best companion primers imo. It primes with like 7 different statuses depending on your setup. That radial disarm is no joke.
Also just learned about Focused Prospectus. Somehow didn't have that one, so swap out electricity and you can add heat if you modded for corrosive cold on the weapon. Gonna have to farm out a couple sisters soon anyway for the new Glaxion.
Waiting to try shivering contagion with the Gorgon augment to just contsantly petrify and freeze enemies.
Running shivering contagion djinn rn, absolutely love it and pairs nice with primary frostbite or secondary shiver
Even if Shivering Contagion gets restricted to weapon, putting it on a Diriga and giving it a verglas or helstrum and modding for corrosive/ cold on them will still be busted and slow down huge crowds

It's what I use on dethcube, but gas instead of corrosive if my weapon has it already

As if this is better than lowering the armor strip strength on Avalanche or changing Icy Avalanche to stack overguard and giving it to companions.
As if the Epitaph couldn't get any better now you will be able to freeze enemies in a huge aoe in a couple seconds. Alright.

@@TierdDoktor6391 You will get 4 cold procs with every shot with multishot, so only 2-3 shots to freeze enemies solid.
i’ve been using this mod with the cedo in void cascade to lock down huge groups of enemies.

And the syndicate mod activates a blast AOE. I typically run either primary frostbite or primary obstruct. Is it too much to ask for an incarnon genesis for the sobek too? As far as the tenet glaxion I am curious to see what becomes of this particular weapon, perhaps an alternative fire mode?

You could also use the Arcane Secondary Shiver or Secondary Encumber on your pistol weapon. And I hope the cold damage makes the enemies freeze solid like in Borderlands 🤭
Cold spread definitely must be a new meta playstyle for everyone. Any spread source like melee inf zoris/orvius/other force proc melee will be great, biting Frost augment will be easer to reveal it's power. Only issue is VIP mobs that makes this barely useless

I'm not sure I agree with level cap being more tanky. The whole point of the armor change is to cap enemy armor to 2700 (90%) and change the armor calculation to be more linear instead of the extremely bottom heavy that it is now. In theory this would mean that by taking away 50% of the enemy armor we actually get down to manageable DR numbers which means Viral+Heat will be quite good. On the other hand getting full 10 Corrosive stacks for that juicy 80% armor reduction + Corrosive Projection.. we are looking at quite little DR on those level cap enemies.. add in Nourish for Viral and you got some dead enemies. Right?

Cold may be meta for void cascade because thrax won't be able to move/take exolizers. thrax also no longer transfer status effects into their void so no slowed animation.

armor change will help a lot vs enemies you cant even fullstrip ie necromechs, the rest doesn't matter, armor strip and slash is too common and armor hasnt been a problem for years
Isn't this sort of a nerf to Forst, though? Now his existence can be mostly replicated with a status primer and any overguard generation?
Frost is not needed this works on any frame, I just had him equipped to show how shivering improves his 4.. full zombie frost video soon

@vincentproud6589 No. In fact the opposite. Frost is The best frame for these changes due to his Biting Frost augment. This will increase the crit damage bonus on frozen enemies by another 200% for a 300% total increase as well as a 200% increase to crit chance. The change to cold also makes it much easier to proc the augment.
Cold has infinite scaling dmg based on enemy's health, is so satisfying oneshotting folks on lvl 3000 with only a shot with the epitaph with viral and a cast of the bubble of frost, the just explode

What cold procs actually do is just +0.5 to your final CD at 9 procs, just like tenacious bond. Pretty sure after the jade update, this number becomes +1 to your final CD when you freeze the enemies

I also would like to add that shivering contagion is bugged in 2 ways
1: it technically shouldn't effect your entire loadout, only your primary weapon. (Probably will get nerfed)
2: the 30% chance of spreading is actually 100%
If DE fixes these issues, the mod becomes instant meh, unless you are using a high fire rate weapon (makes you wonder how long they were cooking this for tenet glaxion)

Yall are a couple months late to the party, been using cold+corrosive with my verglas and MOA (I run melee only build, pack leader works on them) for at least the last month.

@GazTTV the other options for that slot are the pax arcanes, which are lackluster overall. So it's at least as good as whatever else you could use in the same slot. Especially for the tentacle kitguns since they cant headshot for shit due to the auto targeting.

Corrosive will be reducing enemy armor massively, while cold will increase the damage and freeze enemies completely.
I've been using corrosive cold for two years already with primary shiver? (arcane that adds crit damage and multishot on cold prock). Previously on primary verminsplicer, now with torid and it shreds.

The game is already so easy. Sad to see they going to make the game much easier with the armor changes & these status changes.
I think the game will come to easy & might become to boring once we get these changes. DE balancing the game around new players yet again.

the crit damage bonus from cold is not related at all to the weapon used, its an extra 0.5x added at the end of the crit damage calculation.
"For example, a Kunai with Primed Target Cracker will crit a target afflicted with 9 cold procs for 1.6x × (1 + 110%) + 0.5x = 3.86x Critical Damage."
doubling the bonus will mean almost nothing, a weapon with 2x cd critting on a max cold proc enemy will deal 3x cd instead of 2.5x
