Hello and welcome back again to Slovakia where this time we'll be riding the High Tatra Cable Cars!
This system of 3 cable cars / gondolas ascend to the summit of Lomnický štít at 2,634m / 8,642ft, Slovakia's 2nd highest mountain. It is easily reached by mainline train from Bratislava or Kosice and the Tarta Mountain Railways... Enjoy the video!

Thank you, nonstop eurotrip! You give your all for us. But let me tell you a little experience. When I was little, I don't remember when my mom sent me to a ski resort. And she had the wonderful idea of making us take a kind of mechanical lift (exactly of the same kind as what you present here) up to more than 2200 meters. People came with their skis of course, except us of course, who were only there for the walk. So, on the way up, I had the scare of my life, the cable stopped in the middle of a bend at 2000 km altitude, the cabin was rocking, the wind was strong, it lasted 15 minutes, the climb freaked me out. has anguished as rarely ... Arrived at the top, apart from the "crazy" skiers, of course the altitude restaurant, etc. etc. Going down, I counted meter by meter to arrive quickly at the bottom, with each gained meter, I was happy. When I reached the bottom, I was relieved with joy. I never told mum, I don't know if she noticed. But the next year, she sent me elsewhere, and I was very bad during all the holidays... In short, this system is really not for me. I am very afraid. It pitches. It gives me bad memories. I am dizzy. I don't think humans are made to be in such places. But thank you very much, nonstop eurotrip for the video!

Such a great video! Those views at the top are simply breath taking! Despite the ticket being expensive, to spent a day up there looks like a good idea.

In the summer of 2009 I was at the top of Lomnicky Štít. You really missed the best!

One correction: What you poit at at 11:45 is not the Lomnicky Šcit cable car but the chairlift to Lomnicke Sedlo. The summit Cable car starts in the hotel building to your right. The chairlift used to run in summer as well as qinter, but probably needs separate tickets. The final cable car has no supports and you can actually see the cables disappearing into the clouds at 12:00.

Lovely excursion and the sights are totally breathtaking for sure! Did you manage to grab something to eat at that restaurant at the top? is it possible to go all the way up hiking or you got to pay as well? I loved this report: trains🤏 and scenery🤩

You can hike all the way up to Skalnaté pleso for free. All marked hiking trails in the High Tatras are free (at least on the Slovak side). However you need to be accompanied by a mountain guide for some more difficult trails, like the one from Skalnaté pleso to Lomnický štít(and the mountain guide is obviously not free).
I ate at the bottom on the way down as it was very busy in the restaurant up top! ⛰️

Yes there were some bikers up there! It is very reminiscent of Switzerland 🇨🇭
Tip! Take the train to Brasov in Romania, the bus up to Poiana Brasov and the old cable-car up !

Nice change this and yes it does inspire me to take more of these journeys. Not necessarily this one specifically tbh but there’s plenty of others. I do try to avoid the ones with the glass-bottom floors though. Not for the faint-hearted those!!

We were due to go to Tantra mountains just when Covid hit in 2020 We were to stay in Zakopane in Poland. Does the 2 systems link up on either side of the mountain range?

the real scary part is the final Cable car, that ascends almost 900m with no supports, at some point hanging over 500 meters over the ground

I have been, but 1 car took me to Skalnate Pleso, not change the line. To Lomincky Stit line closed, so no problem... Not You don't have it.

Yeah the cable car was quite expensive, but it was worth it for the views imo! The rest of Slovakia is very cheap tho, and well worth visiting 😁🇸🇰

Unnecessarily overpriced and zero service. This cannot be compared to the Alps in Austria and Switzerland. For the same money you get 100 times more. They are in tourism 50 years behind...
