I'm convinced that NFL teams have to start investing in a team therapist
David Minor pretty sure they already do, they have everything these days
20 year olds getting paid millions. teams would need a full time baby sitter to keep players out of shit. And even that doesn’t fix motivation
Me too!
Pretty sure even before the Hernandez shit they did , but it was mandatory to have aide available
I think they do but just like the military's mental health facilities they're skewed towards the team and getting the person ready to participate as quickly as possible rather than helping the person.
"Fact is, sometimes your passion fades and when it does, it's okay to move own."
Well said!
Thats life... I think we all have lost passion for something before.
Anthony Hutchins you’re too right
Literally the moment I went to read this FlemLo said it in the video 😂😂😂
Real easy to just "move on" when you get handed tens of millions of dollars.
@@DeadlyDanDaMan I see what you are saying for sure, but in some ways that would also make it hard to walk away in my opinion. He left a lot of money on the table by taking the path he did. I know that would be hard for me even if I did have a bunch of money already.
The good thing for Lacy is that he doesnt seem flashy or roll with a huge entourage of hangers on, so the money he did make should be enough for he and his family.
Was a grade higher and played against him in highschool. He was definitely on a mission, ran like a man possessed. It all makes sense looking back now, glad he didn't quit in college.
H
thats insane
Cap
That’s actually really cool
Yup
See I feel bad when people make jokes about him because he seems like such a nice guy
Donovan Murphy trolls have no heart
Thing is, people are really in love with their clever comments. And I can appreciate that. If I think of something funny...it's goin' up. It isn't meant as a serious argument or an emotional dagger or an attack. It's just people showing off "Hey! Here's a funny thing I thought up!" That's usually all it is. (I know some people are pretty damn nasty, but not most, not really)
Eddy feeling wounded by all that "negativity"? Bruh, he was doin' it wrong.
I’m from St Amant the rival school of Dutch town Lacies school and the way he cared and was nice to my sports med teacher who is from his school but she could tell he didn’t hold back from anything like he had a addictive personality
Lol U think he really pressed over jokes?

Eddie is a good guy who takes care of his family. I wonder how many of his critics can say the same?🤔
Good comment. You should build a man up not condemn him.

Yah know, that sounds like the guy is just doing what he loves, and being with those that love him. Doesn't sound so bad after all, especially since his goals were met!
None
Great Lakes what kind of man doesn’t want to take care of his family?
I just got to say, I work in the therapy field as a counselor, therapist.. and I am wildly impressed with your ability to look deeper into the psychosocial issues some of these players have to contend with. This makes your work even more valuable. Alright, Im a Pack fan, cant help it, I was raised in Milwaukee. I cant wait to watch this.

He did more as a football player than most people do in real life who suffer with the same addictions
.I'm very proud of this guy .the only disappointment that I have in him is that he invested too much into what people say .people are pieces of s*** never hang your hat on what another man that is less than you has to say about you

Yea man its sad that so many people out there get joy out of making someone feel like shit. Especially when you could tell his feelings were smashed and he was at an all time low the scumbags went even harder at him destroying what confidence or pride he ever felt . Alot of people that dont have weight issues dont understand how hard it can be to stay in shape. He could have tried a bit harder but its pretty disgusting how many heartless dirtbags are out there. I just hope hes happy in life. It seems like his family is real close and thats really all that matters.
Upset people are the ones that drafted Eddie lacy in fantasy
😂🤣
Gimme a break. He had more opportunity than most people do in real life. He had enough $ to hire someone to slap food outta his hand.
he graduated with my son...everything i ever heard was, "he is a good person"...
I went to high school with Eddie, took a few classes together too! Him and his cousin Ryan were football stars, very good people.

I was just talking about Eddie Lacy with the guys at work. Crazy. Wicked talented dude. Internet bullying is real. Atleast he got some money to get his family a house and take care of them.
P.s. I'd like you to do a story about a little known RB for the New England Patriots a few years ago. His name was Jonas Gray. He had some big games. One game he was over 200 yards rushing and 4 TDs.
McCarthy destroyed Lacy's confidence. Packers kept trying to run a two back system, which would screw up the momentum. Lacy would get them down the field to the red zone then suddenly it'd be Starks off the bench. Lacy would sometimes end games with 12 touches. No one wanted to tackle him. If run as a feature back he could have defenses worn down by the 3 or 4th quarter. I think not being played as a feature back when he was one hurt him. It was well documented Lacy suffered from PTSD and depression from Hurricane Katrina before the draft and he ate as a coping mechanism. He did everything the Packers asked him to and ultimately he's got to be responsible for himself; however McCarthy's old school attitude was really outdated and wasn't helpful. McCarthy would force guys into his system and if they didn't work according to his vision you weren't playing. In contrast to Belichick; who plans to his players strengths. You could tell the relationship was bad, then Eddie started breaking curfew and so on. He had the potential to be an all time great, but also that's up to him. Didn't really seem Lacy wanted to play anymore.
McCarthy is so bad atleast we fired him and started aaron jones
@@Mraquanetchris PTSD from Katrina? He wasn't even IN Katrina!! Did you not watch the video? His family left before it hit. His family wasn't poor bruh. Eddie was a VERY privileged child. Don't get it twisted. Eddie didn't grow up poor and he didn't live in the ghetto.
@@DeadlyDanDaManIf you watched the video you’d realize that he was still affected by Katrina since the only home he’d ever known was destroyed. That would clearly make a difference🤡🤡.
As a Packers fan, you forgot the most memorable quote ive heard in reference to Eddie, said by Mike Daniels during the NFL’s Top 100 back when Eddie made the list. He said, “Eddies one cheeseburger away from having his hand in the dirt next to me”, hahahah! I actually laughed.

Man, Eddie Lacy was an absolute BEAST when he was in shape. He was unstoppable at Alabama. He had the best spin move I’ve ever seen- and he was a pretty big dude (not fat, just big).
Eddie seems like a genuinely good dude man, all that matters is that hes happy now. Family is more important than anything in the world. Good for him.

Thank u, I can't help but feel at this stage of my life, I'm falling down the same pit. Tot alot abt what other ppl think of my project progress, & let that negativity feed into my work. I couldn't rmb the last time I was doing things for passion anymore, the pride I had lost in my work. Just doing things for the sake of doing things, meeting deadlines, scared of what ppl will say. I can't rmb the confidence I used to have in what I was doing. Not motivated, burnt out, depressed, anxious.
I'm not going to make excuses for myself, but its a pit that's easy to fall into, some struggle we can't come out of. At some point, I'm just going to do, me, & not give a flying fk abt what other ppl think. I don't have the energy to worry anymore.

I've struggled with weight issues my entire life. I can't speak for Eddie, but I know the worst thing ever for me was feeling like no matter what I did, I'd always be relegated to 'the fat kid'. Even when I got down to 10% bodyfat, I still felt like one. Body image issues are just as bad for dudes as they are for chicks, maybe even worse because the moment we say anything about them everyone just leap on for the kill. Glad to see he's found his happiness, lot more important than any game

ClosetNinja504 quit lying bruh 🤥🤥
I played Julio Jones when we were in high school. Mind you I’m not going to give you a uncle Rico story claiming I was this football God, but I was 6’ 240lbs in good shape and fairly agile. Well I was covering on kickoffs because he already burned us once and coach wanted experience on the field because we used the young pups usually. Long story short I had Julio with the sideline being my friend expecting a skills position player to just trot out of bounds, quite the contrary he ran me over like I’ve never been ran over. I think part of it was not being fully engaged because he was close to the sideline, but mainly it was because he was a grown man amongst boys so to speak lol. These guys even on the high school level are a different breed.
Dude, this is becoming one of my favorite NFL videos. Thanks for making these.
If this guy had a good work ethic. He would’ve been a generational player. He was beyond talented
Who says he doesn't have a good work ethic ? Did you not hear the last thing said in this video ? When you lose your passion for something it's OK to move on. He doesn't have to spend his life around football to have a good work ethic. People can call him a quiter cuz he left their inner circle but the fact is he shouldn't stay if it's not what he wants. I've quit jobs before but it doesn't mean I have a bad work ethic and sit at the house. It's always meant I'm moving on to something bigger and better. I quit my job of 14 years cuz it was just a job. I quit it to start a more financially stable career. Not just another job. See what I'm saying ?
This is why Belichick tells his players over and over to ‘ignore the noise!’

These videos are fantastic! You do a great job going through the early life and identifying any sort of trauma or major life event that explains behaviors that take place later on down the road. You have a great sense of empathy to not judge, but simply explain the situation of the players and how they responded, whether it be a good or bad choice. I found your channel by accident, but I'm glad I did. These are well done. Keep up the great work!! I'm a huge fan of MLB if you ever decide to venture over that way as well.
I can relate to Eddie Lacy. I use to weight 350 pounds my sophomore year of high school, and it's tough to lose the weight for me. After a year and a half I'm down to 284 my senior year. It's frustrating because technically I'm healthy according to blood results and stuff. It's just the fat. Sometimes you got to fight through it. It sucks but it's possible.
Luis Martinez keep pushing bro used to be 210 now I’m to 150
GonzoDaMan what did you do exactly? I could use some losing weight tactics lol
Prestin Bell water is key. All you should drink is water I used to hate water then I started drinking it everyday. Try to get in the habit of always drinking water and nothing else. I lost weight by usually doing cardio and a little bit of weight training and the best thing about it was I did it all at home. I would get home from work which was a construction job so that helped because it’s a lot of walking. I would do cardio usually running on the treadmill for 30 minutes then do cardio exercises for example push ups, sit ups, planks etc. I also played a lot of basketball and hitting the punching bag. The main thing you want to do is make losing weight feel like not losing weight do stuff you like to do consistently and push hard on everything you do. Sorry I’m all over the place I’m not good at explaining myself but I tried my best.
You can download lots of apps that help you with cardio and give you tons of cardio exercises also. Losing weight is all about consistency don’t cheat yourself out of workouts or eating right, that’s the worst thing you can do.
