      The good thing for Lacy is that he doesnt seem flashy or roll with a huge entourage of hangers on, so the money he did make should be enough for he and his family.

    P.s. I'd like you to do a story about a little known RB for the New England Patriots a few years ago. His name was Jonas Gray. He had some big games. One game he was over 200 yards rushing and 4 TDs.

    • @Mraquanetchris
      @Mraquanetchris Před 4 lety +7

      McCarthy destroyed Lacy's confidence. Packers kept trying to run a two back system, which would screw up the momentum. Lacy would get them down the field to the red zone then suddenly it'd be Starks off the bench. Lacy would sometimes end games with 12 touches. No one wanted to tackle him. If run as a feature back he could have defenses worn down by the 3 or 4th quarter. I think not being played as a feature back when he was one hurt him. It was well documented Lacy suffered from PTSD and depression from Hurricane Katrina before the draft and he ate as a coping mechanism. He did everything the Packers asked him to and ultimately he's got to be responsible for himself; however McCarthy's old school attitude was really outdated and wasn't helpful. McCarthy would force guys into his system and if they didn't work according to his vision you weren't playing. In contrast to Belichick; who plans to his players strengths. You could tell the relationship was bad, then Eddie started breaking curfew and so on. He had the potential to be an all time great, but also that's up to him. Didn't really seem Lacy wanted to play anymore.

    "He was so invested in what other ppl thought about him, it built-up mental barriers he just couldn't break. He let his outside, drown out his inner confidence, got down on himself, then returned to the 1 thing he took comfort in- ______."
    Thank u, I can't help but feel at this stage of my life, I'm falling down the same pit. Tot alot abt what other ppl think of my project progress, & let that negativity feed into my work. I couldn't rmb the last time I was doing things for passion anymore, the pride I had lost in my work. Just doing things for the sake of doing things, meeting deadlines, scared of what ppl will say. I can't rmb the confidence I used to have in what I was doing. Not motivated, burnt out, depressed, anxious.
    I'm not going to make excuses for myself, but its a pit that's easy to fall into, some struggle we can't come out of. At some point, I'm just going to do, me, & not give a flying fk abt what other ppl think. I don't have the energy to worry anymore.

    I've struggled with weight issues my entire life. I can't speak for Eddie, but I know the worst thing ever for me was feeling like no matter what I did, I'd always be relegated to 'the fat kid'. Even when I got down to 10% bodyfat, I still felt like one. Body image issues are just as bad for dudes as they are for chicks, maybe even worse because the moment we say anything about them everyone just leap on for the kill. Glad to see he's found his happiness, lot more important than any game

      I played Julio Jones when we were in high school. Mind you I’m not going to give you a uncle Rico story claiming I was this football God, but I was 6’ 240lbs in good shape and fairly agile. Well I was covering on kickoffs because he already burned us once and coach wanted experience on the field because we used the young pups usually. Long story short I had Julio with the sideline being my friend expecting a skills position player to just trot out of bounds, quite the contrary he ran me over like I’ve never been ran over. I think part of it was not being fully engaged because he was close to the sideline, but mainly it was because he was a grown man amongst boys so to speak lol. These guys even on the high school level are a different breed.

      Who says he doesn't have a good work ethic ? Did you not hear the last thing said in this video ? When you lose your passion for something it's OK to move on. He doesn't have to spend his life around football to have a good work ethic. People can call him a quiter cuz he left their inner circle but the fact is he shouldn't stay if it's not what he wants. I've quit jobs before but it doesn't mean I have a bad work ethic and sit at the house. It's always meant I'm moving on to something bigger and better. I quit my job of 14 years cuz it was just a job. I quit it to start a more financially stable career. Not just another job. See what I'm saying ?

    ITS DEEPER THAN THAT...PLAYING VIDEO GAMES WAS ABSENT WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER...ITS ALMOST LIKE HE WANTED TO FILL A VOID THAT WAS TAKEN FROM HIM AT AN EARLY AGE. SOUNDS LIKE HE HAD TO GROW UP EARLIER THAN MOST. GREAT VIDEO!

    The positives I gathered from this story, is that he loved his family, not the violent sport, and that he finished his career with no serious head injuries or body injuries that could ruin him physically for the rest of his life.

    I would love to see you do videos on players who met tragic ends. Such as Will Smith of the Saints, Chris Henry of the Bengals and Pat Tillman. We all know how their lives came to an end, but because of how in- depth your research is and the quality of your story telling, I believe you could help share their accomplishments as people and not just football players.

    These videos are fantastic! You do a great job going through the early life and identifying any sort of trauma or major life event that explains behaviors that take place later on down the road. You have a great sense of empathy to not judge, but simply explain the situation of the players and how they responded, whether it be a good or bad choice. I found your channel by accident, but I'm glad I did. These are well done. Keep up the great work!! I'm a huge fan of MLB if you ever decide to venture over that way as well.

    I can relate to Eddie Lacy. I use to weight 350 pounds my sophomore year of high school, and it's tough to lose the weight for me. After a year and a half I'm down to 284 my senior year. It's frustrating because technically I'm healthy according to blood results and stuff. It's just the fat. Sometimes you got to fight through it. It sucks but it's possible.

      Prestin Bell water is key. All you should drink is water I used to hate water then I started drinking it everyday. Try to get in the habit of always drinking water and nothing else. I lost weight by usually doing cardio and a little bit of weight training and the best thing about it was I did it all at home. I would get home from work which was a construction job so that helped because it’s a lot of walking. I would do cardio usually running on the treadmill for 30 minutes then do cardio exercises for example push ups, sit ups, planks etc. I also played a lot of basketball and hitting the punching bag. The main thing you want to do is make losing weight feel like not losing weight do stuff you like to do consistently and push hard on everything you do. Sorry I’m all over the place I’m not good at explaining myself but I tried my best.

      @nazizombies5132 Před 5 lety +1

      You can download lots of apps that help you with cardio and give you tons of cardio exercises also. Losing weight is all about consistency don’t cheat yourself out of workouts or eating right, that’s the worst thing you can do.
