Michael Bublé pays tribute to 2023 Honoree Barry Gibb with a soulful rendition of "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart."
The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual honor given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture.
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is proud to celebrate the 46th Honorees for lifetime artistic achievements: actor and comedian Billy Crystal; acclaimed soprano Renée Fleming; British singer-songwriter producer, and member of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb; rapper, singer, and actress Queen Latifah; and singer Dionne Warwick.
The event took place Sunday, December 3rd, 2023, in the Kennedy Center Opera House, and premieres Wednesday, December 27 at 8pm ET on CBS and will be available for viewing on Paramount+.

If Michael tried to somehow mimic the original version, it would have come off as...cheesy...silly. This understated version is, I feel, in honor of the masterpiece itself.
It was "understated" because that's all he can deliver. He's not really a great singer at all - has to pull out all the stops to be more than a performer at the high-school dance.

People who don’t listen to more than a few songs of Michael Bublé, would think that he is a basic singer. He’s a fantastic singer. He actually has a great range. Beautiful tone. He sometimes does certain ribs and rounds that I don’t expect. Certain belts that I don’t expect. he can sing. If somebody’s not your cup of tea and you don’t listen to them, please don’t comment on what they can do.

I discovered an older album of the Bee Gees called Odessa, here on CZcams, its from 1969, way before disco and Barry's falsetto. Its a beautiful album that for the millionth time shows how accomplished there were even before the late 70's. Much respect to Barry, Maurice and Robin, both gone too soon.

I bought this album in 1969 and it has been one of my favourites for all this time. Truly underrated.
I have a box set with that album. I was a fan of their music before the disco era. Love their early music. They were asked to do the movie soundtrack but disco isn’t my favourite and I’d be willing to guess it wasn’t theirs. But there’s so versatile and have written for many artists as well.
I think Andy would have had a great career. So that his life was cut short.

This was a long due. I am so pleased to finally witness the Bee Gees, the Gibbs, being inducted into the Kennedy Center Honors. I am sure, the younger Gibbs are smiling from above.

Everyone did such a great job honoring. Especially Alfie and say a lottle prayer. Alfie gave me goose bumps. The girl who sang was absolutely fantastic. What a VOICE. Never missed a beat. Bravo to u. And the bee gees shoyld have gotten this when everyone was still here abd not passed. But they always wait for people to pass abd tgen honor them. Omg wgat a bunch of loosers. But the show eas fantastic. 😊.so many older singers deserve this honor but where r they. ?.
