    It's not about hiding emotion or denying emotion, it's about managing emotion, keeping things in perspective, and remaining rational when irrationality looms.

    Exactly, the Haitian fellow is right. To be a man is to be able to fight/defend and provide. Across the world the standard is the same except in the West, where the level of prosperity is so high, that we can afford to indulge female fantasies of equality, which is not really what they want. They want selective equality, in selective ways, that accommodate them but do not account for the full spectrum of realities and hardships.

    Easy - A man sets the standards (boundaries) for what is and what is not acceptable within their presence.
    You can give a male a "Hi-Five" for crying all day, but he'll never find a mate by doing so.

    Teach girls to marry poor guys and I guarantee men will drop their ambitions to play a role of providers.

    • @jeffreychandler8418
      @jeffreychandler8418 Před 11 měsíci

      exactly. this expectation is build more from experience that behaving otherwise does not succeed. Women generally want men that provide for them and boost them up. Whilst men generally settle for less. Just recently a celebrity got accused of emotional abuse for laying down boundaries, whilst I've seen women BEAT men to no consequence. It's a clear inequity that we aren't dealing with appropriately. Not taking this seriously leads to the more dysfunctional, toxic, and violent forms of masculinity. It's why "incels" are primarily a dangerous phenomenon in these "post-2nd wave feminism" countries. The removal of these standards for women, without doing the same for men, breeds major resentment

      Well, not everyone can mature, right? You can be a grown man but not have responsibilities of a man. There's rites of passages in every culture that determine you becoming a MAN so you can take up your role in society. Unfortunately you cannot deem EVERYONE born male a MAN. Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson, Lebron James are MEN because they are protectors and providers who take their roles as head of house seriously. I don't believe that men who take the feminine role can be labeled MEN as hey are not performing manly duties.

    • @ishrendon6435

      @suezcontours6653 a man in most cultures is the same . Paleontologists now know its the same thing , men provide and protect in 90 percent of cultures

      When a society becomes androgynous, it collapses. The polarity of genders and gender roles helps it prosper

  • @Razear

    That's partly why the suicide rate among men is higher than that of women. Men aren't encouraged to let out or share their emotions so they're more likely to bottle them up and fight their own mental battles, but women have all sorts of different outlets and it's much more widely acceptable for them to seek help externally.

    • @suezcontours6653
      @suezcontours6653 Před rokem

      Emotion is dangerous. Sorry but this generation of men is far worse than the previous generations. They believe they are on the same level as women due to horrible socialization in the West for the past 60 years.

    • @ishrendon6435
      @ishrendon6435 Před rokem

      Males are more likely to hurt others look at homicide rates. Men kill men at 10 times more than females kill females. So obviously it doesnt take a genius males will harm themselves more and kill themselves more. Thats just obvious being the more violent sex in terms of biology. Every male mammal has a dominant sex and more violent. In humans and most primates like us its usually males

      Not true. Men have had a lot more stress in the past… no one thought it was sane to whack themselves. They did it out of duty maybe, but that’s it.
      Purposelessnes is the only cause, on all people. Better have a fake purpose (anything, incl. a spaghetti monster) than not have anything.

    • @markpiatti1109
      @markpiatti1109 Před rokem

      Women actually attempt suicide more often; men are just better at achieving the end result.

    • @jeffreychandler8418
      @jeffreychandler8418 Před 11 měsíci +1

      and I think the reason we aren't making progress on these rates is because seeking external help for men looks different than what it does for women, and then we shame men for it, which only further drives suicidality and thoughts of hopelessness, purposelessness, etc.
