I think skinny jeans have such a loyal and devoted fan base, no matter what the trend setters say, they’ll always be around. I’m not a fan, but I think there are ways to style them that make them look less dated.
I agree. They are always going to be around. They tuck into boots better and for many women they compliment their figures beautifully. I have almost every fit and cut of denim and I think the best opinion is, there are all sorts of fits to include in your denim wardrobe and skinny fit is among them.
For 10% of the population. They work well with tall boots but at the current moment it's very hard to style them without looking dated.
I love my skinny jeans but always cover the goods.☺
I’m angry at 80 retired, no big social functions, no heels, my body shape not like the pictures nor my height. I order jeans thinking when I look in the mirror I will see chic, I say wear what makes you feel good for where your going , sooner or later what’s in is out for you.
I remember thinking that bell bottoms would be popular forever-- in the '70's. Then the 80's hit. Of course, they came back, but it does seem to cycle.
Beth, I am 83, feel 65, and I’m definitely a blue Jean mama. Love comfortable pair of jeans, and the way they look with my button down shirts with the collar popped or tees or sweaters.
Love that!
User. I really love a crisp button up oxford cloth with vintage Levi’s.
You are such a polished presenter Beth. A class act and my favorite influencer to watch. Skinny jeans didn't really flatter me when they were in style so I'm glad they've gone out. Straight leg is the only style for me and I find them flattering on every body type.
Thank you! #straightlegforever
Great info for this year! Thanks, Beth!❤ 17:28
❤ I agree! Beth … you are indeed a class act in the way you present your videos! I think it’s because you truly own your style … you wear your clothes with class and confidence. 🎉🎉🎉 You’re the influencer I follow religiously! Grazie ❤

I love some trends, but on my petite figure I do not look good in wide pants~ or barrel looking jeans. I do love skinny jeans with boots in the winter and I see a lot of others still wearing skinny jeans..
My daughter-in-law is 5'0" and looks fantastic in wide-leg jeans. It takes a while to get used to a new silhouette. However, a sighting of skinny jeans is rare these days in metropolitan cities. It took us years to finally accept skinny jeans into the lineup. But if you love them - wear them.
I’m so glad skinny jeans are out. I look much better in a straight leg that hangs away from the body a little.
I’m excited about the gray wash jeans and will gladly embrace. Love Levi’s high rise.
Thank you for the video, Beth. You look amazing.❤
It’s a flattering silhouette for everyone! Thanks for watching!
I love my wide leg jeans, but i do wear my skinny in winter with knee-high boots there so warm .many thank for always influencing me.
Sounds like your denim game is strong! Thanks for stopping by!
I'm excited to try some new denim styles! Thanks for all the links as well.
You are so welcome! It’s always fun to experiment with new styles! Have fun!
Bootcut and flare jeans in dark blue colour are my favourite ones.Years ago I purchased a pair of grey ones.I have never worn them so far.Maybe I'll give them a try this year.Kisses from sunny Greece,Beth.
Great video! It gives the best overview of denim - I feel I understand the options so much better now.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for showing us all these denim trends. I love the wide leg look. It seems like there is something for every taste. I am looking forward to spring and getting some new fashionable jeans!
You are so welcome! Spring can't come fast enough!
Love the jeans, all colours,, my favourite is dark denom
You can never go wrong with classic dark rinse denim.
Thankful for your informative videos ❤ jeans are my favorite ❤ your wonderful role model 😊
You are so welcome! I so appreciate you being here!
Thank you Beth ❤ always fun and educational
You are so welcome!
I think skinny jeans work well in high boots. You don’t get the puffy material sticking out. 😊
Agree 100%!
For those of us who have to contend with snow I totally agree however will also add; slim cut (skinny but not pasted on) IMO work with just about any type of footwear (sandals/shoes/sneakers/boots) plus if one were to consider to what those in Milan (Italy) are wearing whom are not only stylish and not intimidated by trends like us here in North America appear to be (i.e.: Sneakers and more sneakers ... 🤗), they are still wearing them IF wearing jeans at all.
I love the new denim styles and bought a gray flare leg pair recently. I’ll probably never get rid of a couple pair of skinny jeans as they work well tucked inside my boots …lol..always love your style!❤
Skinny jeans and tall boots are. match made in heaven. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Beth, your video was very informative. Thank you. ❤
Thanks Cathy!
Several years ago I purchased gray jeans, not knowing they would one day be fashionable, this is their year!
I love gray jeans and always have one or two pairs on hand. It's nice to see they're finally getting recognition! Glad you love yours too!
I bought a pair of gray jeans a few years ago, recently cleaned out my closet and tried them on. They were straight leg skinny jeans and just didn't look right any longer. I passed them on to a thrift shop!
2:09 Wide legs are fine if you're skeletal. Not if you're 15 pounds over like me. Having your own style is more important than following trends. Trust me.
Trust me, it’s important to stay abreast of trends. No one wants to look stuck or stale. Take the trend that works for you. Wide leg is but one.
It all depends on finding a wide leg Jean that fits and flatters, no matter what size you are. I’m a bigger size and I get so many compliments on my new wide leg jeans!
I’m heavier and skinny jeans make me look like an apple on stilts. My middle seems more in proportion with a legs that’s a bit wider. My waist looks smaller.

I love gray denim, and I also like straight legs.
Gray is such a beautiful denim choice. Thanks for watching!
Beth, I so enjoy your videos and wanted to give a bit of feedback. I love your fashion ideas, your warm genuine personality, etc. I grow weary of long presentations on sustainability in fashion - a short mention is fine but I did not make it all the way through this video. Just FYI from a big fan.
Thanks for the feedback. You can always fast forward. But there are certain topics that need backstory. Sustainable fashion is but one. And we've been inundated with fast fashion for years so it will take quite some time before the tide turns.
Skinny jeans are still in style. It surprises me too, but I have seen them in many of the new designer collections. If women will wear them, the designers will sell them. For me it's a take it or leave it. I got jeans in wider leg style, straight, cropped, full lenght and so on. I wear whatever pleases me that day. I wear skinny jeans with my knee high boots (which I need here in Canada in the Winter). Wide leg jeans look weird with those boots. I also wear them walking the dogs in the country where there is melting snow, slush, mud and water. They are handy when I drive the car too. Wide leg jeans hang on the floor and get muddy and dirty.
Skinny jeans are still a available and people still wear them, but they are out of style. Of course, people should wear what they want and always have, but this video addresses the jean silhouettes that are currently are on trend.
The sweater you are wearing is gorgeous. Could you share the link? Couldn’t find it in your LTK site💕
I always hate to disappoint my readers but this sweater sold out lickety split from Boden so I can’t link it.😢
Fabulous presentation on denim. I have a grey pair from Madewell that I purchased last year and they are one of my favorite pairs to wear. Straight leg jeans are my favorite silhouette. I tried on the white pintuck flare leg jeans from Talbots and they were very flattering on me, but I'm not so sure how classic they are considered. I don't want to buy a pair of jeans and not be able to wear them for years to come. What do you think?
Flare jeans have been on trend for several years so I think you’re safe with this purchase. They’re so dang cute!
Love your sweater, Beth
I need jeans for short, thick legs.
Straight Legs!
I have had gray jeans for the last 5yrs+ & I always have off white jeans
I still like skinny jeans sometimes. I also have gray straight leg jeans . Cuffed jeans look great on tall models but not me. I'm sorry but I think the barrel shape is ugly but that's just me. You're always beautiful and chic and classy.
The good news is that there are so many silhouettes to choose from these days! Gotta love the 21st century.
Thanks for the heads up on the gray Ann Taylor jeans👍🏻. I grabbed a pair. My favorite wide pair of jeans is from Boden. Love them!
You are so welcome!
Beth,
I was never a fan of skinny jeans, so very pleased to see them gone, but is it true that every piece of jewelry, accessory, or clothing item was on trend at some point in time?
Is what makes it a classic wardrobe piece are those pieces that are timeless and never seems to go out of style?
Like denim. 😊
Classic or timeless style is always in vogue. But it is vital to stay abreast of trends, not just in fashion but technology, food, everything! Remember when iPods were a thing? Or Acai berries? How about the latest app? Or the current NY Times bestseller?Yes, trends come and go but I'm always curious as to what's "in" whether I incorporate it into my lifestyle or not.
@@BethDjalali
I agree.
I’m a denim fan 🙂
The perfect choice for so many occasions.
Dark wash high waisted straight is a classic look. I have never been a fan of skinny jeans.
That's a beautiful silhouette! Thanks for stopping by!.
Petite ladies need to remember that cuffed pants are very unflattering on a petite frame.
Petites would just alter the depth of the cuff. But it's definitely a do for Petities.
Thank you, I love your videos. Your camera angle from above is just a bit difficult to see the jean details.
Thanks for the feedback.
Annette here, I kept trying wide leg jeans until I found a pair I liked. Still getting used to them. Hard to feel that my shoes look "right".
The right footwear is key when wearing wide-leg jeans. Keep experimenting and you'll find the right combo.
Sam Edelman makes a great jean.

👍❤
Those metallic jeans look ridiculous! Only for the young?! Like the model showing them off. I'm 65, don't think I'll be wearing metallic jeans any time soon! As well as faux leather pants.
I’m looking for a new pair of jeans to fit my large waist, small butt and thin thighs.
Have you tried Spanx jeans? I think they would have several pairs that could work. rstyle.me/+FRvqBTVSLQq0dF8hkO0RuQ

Who knew that my relevance is dependent on my denim choice?
Relevant infers staying current. Denim is but one way.
I think I was caught off guard by the word 'relevant'. Denim choice does keep someone current. Given as 'stay relevant' was the large highlighted text, I was expecting something different. But I always enjoy the posts, if not the headlines. Thanks.
