This is what really grinds me gears about B&W, every PX headphone model has a new and different app. Rather than refining the experience or adding features, they will drop it like a stone and move on.
They definitely should have added older headphones back to the newer apps, just like Bang & Olufsen does. However, I do believe that the B&W Music app is here to stay, as they're investing in the digital ecosystem.
Hey so could you plug these in via USB c to USB c to a phone or computer and be able to get full hi res audio? I’d love to be able to use my iPhone and get the new Apple Music Hi Res without having to get a second set of headphones
Thanks for the guide! I just bought px7 s2e, and was wondering about the wear sensor: is the playback suppose to continue after you put them back on the head, or you need to do it manualy? Thanks!
@@AudioAdvice Thanks for your answer. Definitely got the faulty unit and returned it today...waiting for the new heaphones, the sound and the looks are awesome!
Does anyone have issues/annoyances with the Pass-Through mode? It feels WAY more muffled than the first PX7 and I’d like to hear more if I’m using Pass-Through.
Hi Daniel. We're sorry to hear you experienced some issues with your model. We didn't experience any passthrough issues when testing ours with Apple iPhones, Android-based smartphones, and our laptops - however if you purchased yours from us, please reach out to us in chat at audioadvice.io/aa-chat so we can help you troubleshoot the issue you are experiencing. Thank you so much for watching.
@@AudioAdvice I ended up returning them to B&W direct because of some other issues I was experiencing as well, but thank you for this video, it was really insightful and detailed!
You can use the included USB-C to mini plug headphone cable connected to the 1/8" mini plug headphone jack on your PS. They will need to be charged though. Thanks for watching
I'm thinking about buying this headset. Does anybody now if it is possible to use them with the jack conection, if the headset ran out of battery? For sure ANC will not work, but do I get any sound without battery?
While we have not tried that specific one powered down, most headphone like it do work with no power and the cord, however they usually do not play very loud that way
It sounds like you have a problem with them, you should contact the dealer you purchased them from. If you did purchase them from Audio Advice, please reach out to our team for help.
Hi. Nice review. However, I wonder if you tested them long enough to be bothered by that crackling noise heard when playing some tracks. It’s like the sound of crumbling paper, or parasithes of older radio sets.
We did not hear that in our testing. But you've sparked our interest and will go back and do more testing to see if we hear it. You may have a defective unit?
We've listened to them some more and our testing pair does not have that issue. I would reach out to the seller you bought them from to see if you can replace your pair.
@@AudioAdvice I have that but into what kind of cube or outlet bc I can’t find anything to match it it’s not like an iPhone cord I guess is what I’m trying to say
I'm dying to buy these but every single review I'm hearing is that this headphone has pure bugs with the app. Personally, I don't care about all those things I'll never use headphones for all that fluff. All I want is to know about the sound. Some say it's not loud enough, not enough bass or only buy if you listen to classical. I listen to rnb hip hop and soul and reggae. Are these headphones capable of giving me the ambience I want.
Great questions. B&W products have a very neutral and honest sound. If you are looking for something that changes the recording the original artist intended, these are not it, but if you want honest reproduction, they are a good choice for their cost. Thanks for watching
I own both the Sony Xm5 and the B&W Px7 s2. The best way to describe the sound difference between the two is that the Sonys sound more muffled/hollow and bass heavy and the B&W sound more clear and neutral. The B&W are loud enough and they do have great bass but they don’t “bump” as good as the Sonys. I listen to a lot of Edm, so, to me, the Sonys sound better, but the B&W are more comfortable, imo. Also, the ANC is better on the Sonys and the mics, but the B&W have superior build quality. I have had no issues with the B&W app.

Agreed.
I think its absolutely fine. if something that minuscule bothers you than consider getting another pair of headphones 🤷🏻♂️

Superb build quality these cans - you will feel their cold, compact metel build, better than plastic Sennheiser.
Totally agree!
Really useful and helpful guide. Well explained and very clear. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

Yes that is correct
Great video!
Can you mute the microphone during a call on the B&W Px7 S2?
Not that we are aware of. Most likely will have to do that on your phone.
@@AudioAdvice oh 😕
Thanks for the advice!
Yes you can, triple tap on the mulfi-function button during calls and that will mute the mic. Same again for unmuting.
Very helpful thank you.
You're welcome!

We believe that is a setting for this in the app. Typically it should start playing again.

Can I plug in the USBC to USBC cable from headphones to PC and use the Mic on headphones for online meetings like TEAMS and ZOOM?
We are testing this now, there appears to be an issue with TEAMS and Windows 10, stand by

my got stock, and does not want to install.. returning.
hello, can they be considered as auido hi-fi wired headphones like the Meze 99 classics or are the mezes better in terms of audio quality?
Those are both very good headphones. The Meze 99 is more of an audio only headphone without noise cancelling like the Px7

@Josh Salgado just received the Px7 S2.
Love them. I was very nervous on the purchase but my goodness........love em.
Lol
They look bulky, heavy and uncomfortable.
They are not. Thought the same and tried one today, they are actually comfortable and because the pad is deeper than many, ears fit comfortably.
@@velezardfieldWhere did you try it?
They're the opposite of that. Light and comfortable.
