  • The murder of the Maltese anti-corruption journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia in 2017 plunged the country into turmoil. Four men have been charged over her killing in a car bomb attack, but there have been no convictions, and many claims and counter-claims have been made during court proceedings. Guardian journalist Juliette Garside, who has been investigating Caruana Galizia's death, speaks with Matthew Caruana Galizia about his mother, his family's quest for justice, and how tragedy may be uniting the country over political divides

This all likely can be traced back to unscrupulous politicians and bureaucrats selling EU passports to Russian oligarchs and criminals for 1m euros a pop. The beautiful birthplace of both of my parents should be kicked out of the EU.

Thank you Guardian for your efforts to keep the memory of Daphne Caruana Galizia alive. I think every european should be grateful to her for her efforts to bring the government's criminal activities to light. Unfortunately a fair trial is unlikely, unless something changes

Si il y avait plus de personnes comme cette courageuse journaliste, le monde serait plus beau, plus juste; la notion de bien et de mal aurait encore un sens...le courage vaincrait le mal.

This should have changed the world.
Sadly, all it did was get her killed.
