  • Your horse is anxious, and it feels like every day you’re starting over with her.
    You desensitize her to one thing, but it doesn’t help her move past her fears with any other object.
    You are desperate to boost her confidence and move along with your training, and you want her to finally feel safe in her environment.
    This is exactly what we discuss in this episode of The Mystic Experiment!
    In this week’s episode, you will learn…
    Why some horses seem to need desensitized to EVERYTHING
    The facial feedback loop and how we can use it to help our horses
    How showing your horse the answer will boost her confidence
    The seeking system explained, and how it can open up a whole new world of possibility!
    AND if you’ve been following along in Mystic’s journey, you will see an update on her training, and plans for the future!
    Do you want to learn from me?
    I have wrapped up my entire life’s work (and heart’s offering to the world) into my signature online course & educational system: The Horse-Human Connection Academy (HCA).
    We typically open enrollment to HCA twice per year. Take a look at what HCA is all about, and sign up for the early enrollment list at this link: www.mustangmaddy.com/the-hca/
    When you join the early enrollment list, you will have the opportunity to enroll in HCA several days before we open up to the public, giving you the best chance at securing your spot in the academy. You will also receive valuable trainings from me, delivered right to your inbox! You are not obligated to purchase anything when you sign up for the early enrollment list.
    We look forward to welcoming you into our Herd!

    I have a gelding that has been a big challenge. I've invested a huge amount of time and yet he always seemed to backslide, and it presented as attitude, dominance or fear. I praise a HUGE amount verbal and by touch. But I also use verbal and body for negative if he gave me negative behavior. I was at a loss because he gave me so much unwanted bahavior my corrections were 3/4 negative and 1/4 positive. Yet I knew he knew the work. So after using your clicker trainer, I was able to offer a more clear cut, positive reinforcement as in "YES" that the right answer" to anything... he has helped us LEAPS and bounds. So we are now more then 85% -90% positive reenforcement and he's making very little unwanted behavior. His confidence has soared. He enjoyes our rides more now that he knows he's getting it right. I realized he felt like he couldn't get anything right. Of course he wouldn't enjoy our work, who would if you felt like you couldn't get anything right. THanks a ton for your view and interpretations. He has challenged me in ways I never thought to thin outside the box as the typical approach was either temporary results or not effective.

    6 months ago I bought a mare for show jumping. She quickly got injured. It turned out that she hadnt have the best live possible. Right now she’s recovered but mentally broken ;( she is scared of a rider and two people who have already worked with tough horse told me that she probably won’t work it out. Thank you Maddy for giving me hope ;) I will start working with her as soon as possible ! Maybe I can help her gain her confidence back and trust in human too

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences. You might enjoy the book presence by Amy Cuddy . There is a section regarding how horses became more confident based on how they were encouraged to be in their posture. Loved watching how she found connection in her body when she found that place of lift. With Gratitude, Lauren

I'm wondering where we can find a target stick similar to yours? I am only finding ones for dogs and cats online (which might also work). Thank you!

    I'm so disappointed. I live in Arizona and I missed meeting you and Mystic. I recently discovered you while watching another video. You were on a Mustang in Vegas. Would that Mustang by chance be Terk?
    Anyway, since stumbling upon your Vegas trip I've been binge watching all your videos. I'm hooked.
    I'm trying to take in and learn everything I can from you because when we get back to Washington and settled I'm wanting to get a Mustang.

    • @kerryobrien6299
      @kerryobrien6299 Před 4 lety +2

      Sorry for jumping in here. It must be scary and frustrating to be on that cliff! No worries! Horses are very visually acute. With my deaf dog, I give him a thumbs up for "Good!" IF he's looking at me. Sometimes I use an electric collar, either one that is vibrate only, or one where the stimulation can be dialed way down (you can test it on your hand), or put tape over the electrodes. That way the vibration can be used as a "Look at me!" signal. The hardest thing about my deaf dogs is getting their attention when they aren't looking at me. I'll be very interested to see what Maddy has to say about this. I wonder if anyone has worked with deaf dolphins?!!!

    • @MustangMaddy
      @MustangMaddy  Před 4 lety +3

      Yes! Your bridge signal can be visual or tactile :)
