    You’ve determined that your customer’s concern is being caused by a fuel delivery issue. But before you replace that pump, are you sure that is the real cause of the problem?

    As an Electronic technician first and car technician second, these videos are invaluable. Your common sense approach to diagnostics is what the new car technicians need direly. Thank you so much for doing this and other series of videos. I wish all shops made their staff watch these and learn diagnostic procedures instead of the common yank and replace system. Continue to educate please sir, we really appreciate it

    Great lesson . I wonder in the " real world " how many " technicians " are too quick to slam a part in and HOPE it solves the issue ? Then when it DOESN'T , is it the part or another issue ? And then there are the ones who don't understand most of what they are doing - but they are sure good at changing parts . And making up stories to justify it .

      "Backyard" Ford diesel techs day to day work schedule. They keep busy no doubt.
      Edit: I can't even fully type backyard because shops are here and there aswell. You really gotta find the right GUY IMO or learn the stuff yourself
      and drop some money on tools. Then have all your family and friends hit you up to do theirs. Pick wisely

    75% duty cycle of the pump (from the scantool command) might be the reason for the 1v difference seen on the power probe...

    11.7 battery could drop abnormally lower than usual with a load if the battery has an issue. I would charge it or replace before spending time load testing wires.

    In regards to researching the voltage drop, doesn’t the 7.2 amps reading indicate that the pump circuit is good/healthy? Doesn’t the circuit have to be healthy to support that much amperage? Or did you just want to demonstrate the voltage drop as well? Was your intent to show how to do a voltage drop test if the amperage was low?

    Would you not have to disconnect the injectors so as not to flood the cylinder with fuel when turning on the fuel pump?

    • @H750S
      @H750S Před 8 měsíci

      The fuel injectors are normally closed so no risk of flooding cylinder unless the injector(s) are leaking. If you pulse the injectors manually to test for a restricted injector using the pressure drop then it will be spraying fuel and would be best to start it after each injector flow test.

    This is good for diagnostic testing until you have a vehicle with a 3 phase electric motor.
