Milktart Jaffles: The Dessert you will love

  • Ingredients:
    6x Cups(250ml) of Milk
    1x Cup(250ml) of Flour
    1x 1/2 Cup(125ml) Maizena Corn Flour
    1/4 Teaspoon of Salt
    1 and 1/2 Cup of Sugar
    4x Tablespoon(60gm) of Butter
    6x Large Eggs
    1x Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
    1x Loaf of Sliced Brown Bread
    Milktart Method
    Take 5 cups of milk and add it to a cast iron casserole. Take 4 tablespoons of butter and add it to the casserole. Take on quarter teaspoon of salt and add it to the casserole. Get your braai up to 250 degrees Celsius of heat and add the casserole onto the braai. Take one cup of milk and add it to a mixing bowl. Take six large eggs, crack them, and add the eggs to the mixing bowl. Stir the egg and milk mixture very will till turned yellow. Add one teaspoon of Vanilla Essence to the mixing bowl and stir. Take one cup of flour and add it to the mixing bowl. Take a half of cup of Mazina and add it to the mixing bowl. Stir very well till mixture is smooth with no clots. Add one and a half cup to the mixing bowl. Stir very well till smooth. Stir the milk mixture in the casserole to make sure the butter is melted and that the milk, salt, and butter is mixed. Get the milk to boiling point on your braai and add the milktart mixture to the casserole. Stir to make sure all the ingredients in the casserole are mixed. Stir the milktart mixture in the casserole every 2 minutes till mixture is smooth and thick. Remove the milktart casserole from the braai to rest.
    Jaffle Method:
    Take one loaf of sliced brown bread and add it to the braai. Let the bread toast for one minute on one side. When bread is ready, remove from the braai. Spread a layer of butter on the toasted side on each slice of bread. Take your jaffle-maker and add on both side a slice of bread with the butter facing down. Add your milktart to the bread and sprinkle cinnamon over the milktart. Close the jaffle-maker and add the jaffle maker to your braai. Your braai must be at 350 degrees Celsius of heat. Turn the jaffle-maker around every 5 minutes till jaffle is golden brown. Remove the jaffle. Repeat process till all slices of bread is done and serve.
