This is song is one of my favorites by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. I think it is an absolutely stunning track in terms of its intensity, dramatic vocals, and poetic, story-like lyrics.

[16 August 2020] I've listened to lots of his early stuff. I too think *AND THE ASS SAW THE ANGEL* is one of the best books I've ever read. Ahhh, Nick in his youth, when he was the Wild Colonial Boy. Now he's grown into the old Man Of Constant Sorrow.

The Bad Seeds were so good at realizing these songs. On paper these songs suck. In their realization, they're great. Nick Cave was a genius for conceiving them, and the band was great for bringing them to life.
I am an avid metal head and love Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave..I went to his concert in Toronto back in October and among the older crowd and pretentious artsy types there was quite an abundance of metal fans.
I suppose two months later this is my attempt at it: Cave is saying that from electricity comes life and we haven't had a bad enough storm since, trapped in times of mediocrity. But the little children know (the next generation)-- that eventually the sandman will come from under the mud and start the heart of the next King-- --to bring the black rain storm of true originality out from the depths of pop culture trash.
Saw Nick Cave in Rome around 2009. They were a bit late coming on stage. I really had to take a piss from the beers. So I went to the toilets thinking "Even if they start the set, I won't miss the best". Came back while they were mid way through "Tupelo" with mustache-Cave sperging in front of a mega screen showing black and white clouds. Most expensive piss I've ever took.
I love how he doesn't know what to do with his hands. The videography is pretty bad for archiving such treasure, but the set up with the orchestra pit was nice.

[16 August 2020] I've listened to lots of his early stuff. I too think *AND THE ASS SAW THE ANGEL* is one of the best books I've ever read. Ahhh, Nick in his youth, when he was the Wild Colonial Boy. Now he's grown into the old Man Of Constant Sorrow.

In Canada, especially Ontario, I have felt like the forest is trying to kill me.
The Bad Seeds were so good at realizing these songs. On paper these songs suck. In their realization, they're great. Nick Cave was a genius for conceiving them, and the band was great for bringing them to life.
If you read his first novel, which is brilliant, called And the Ass Saw the Angel, it’s a combination of This song and The Carny. Brilliant.

I am an avid metal head and love Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave..I went to his concert in Toronto back in October and among the older crowd and pretentious artsy types there was quite an abundance of metal fans.

Saw Nick Cave in Rome around 2009. They were a bit late coming on stage. I really had to take a piss from the beers. So I went to the toilets thinking "Even if they start the set, I won't miss the best". Came back while they were mid way through "Tupelo" with mustache-Cave sperging in front of a mega screen showing black and white clouds. Most expensive piss I've ever took.
I love how he doesn't know what to do with his hands. The videography is pretty bad for archiving such treasure, but the set up with the orchestra pit was nice.
