    I have taken ( many , many ) of these to pieces ..... often the value of a WORKING part greatly exceeds the metal scrap value ! ! ... so .... the magnets are useful stuck to your fridge / cooker to store utensils , and placed into a plastic spray can top , screwed onto the end of a broom pole , can be used to pick up nails / screws in the workshop ! ... the electronic parts are MORE VALUABLE to reuse if left WORKING ! the transformer is MUCH more valuable , working , as you might make a ( dirt cheap ! ) spot welder ( see videos ) , the turntable synchronous motor makes a good Santa rotator for your Christmas tree , and the EHT diode makes a good Zener diode ( ? ) .. even the plastic feet can be reused ! ... of course the steel case is total scrap , but you will get MUCH more value ( reusing / reselling some parts ? ) .... ( tried - n - tested ) ....... DAVE™🛑

    • @scrapitall200
      @scrapitall200  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Hi. Thank you for watching.
      I would leave the capacitor in unless your scrap yard will give you a better price than shred for them.
      I’ve done quite a bit of research and manufacturers haven’t used beryllium in microwaves for a very long time, too expensive. Now they use a mixture of chromium and aluminum oxide.
      What I do just to be safe just in the off chance it is beryllium, I wrap it with tape. Beryllium is only dangerous if it’s inhaled into our lungs, so as long as it’s not broken into fine particles that can be inhaled, it’s safe to handle. Now I’m not saying my research is definitive truth, but I feel confident.
      You could take the magnetron to your scrap yard and ask them what they’d pay for it as is.
      Hope this was helpful to you.
