I always am honest with my reviews and I really wanted to talk about all the stuff I just didn’t hear anyone talk about and I think people should consider if they are in a similar position to me 😊 it’s great but it’s just too much compromise and a pain for my personal desk setup and workflow to keep on my main desk 😊

Hey bro! YES! It’s been too long! But I’m working some stuff out and hopefully be back to making tech videos again, may be a little less apple stuff as I like so much other stuff and I buy so much other stuff that I think some people would love to hear my view of things before they go out and buy them! Honestly I watch some reviews and then buy it and it’s like “how did they not mention this fault”!! Haha so I’m coming back and bring my honest proper tested reviews!

Rant, rant...... Yeah, yeah not a great monitor for the average geek. But for someone, likely a pro, prosumer or simply well heeled, who wants a 5K monitor that "just works" with their Mac or iPad, the Apple Studio Display is minimal hassle choice. And amortised over 8 to 10 years, is probably cost effective to boot. There are more than a few reviews out there that suggest that.
Thanks for the speaker recommend. Good to have a baseline to work from. Would want to ensure my sound is at minimum as good as the MacBook itrelef, and not a downgrade.

I know People always think Apple should let use some of their hardware like this monitor for example on to other systems. But then it wouldn't be as compatible with the rest of Apple's computer either. I personally don't really care Apple doesn't do that. There are enough monitors out there anyway for those other OS's. But that's just my opinion. I don't mind having another nice monitor if i would have a Windows pc of course. I only have my Mac Pro but i do plan on building a Windows pc again in the future. I was going to pick another monitor for that machine anyway, so... 🤷🏻♂️

Yeh that’s the thing if you plan on getting another monitor then fair enough! But let’s be honest they put an hdmi port on the M1 pro/Max MacBook Pro’s but not on this studio so they are open to adding stuff that works with other stuff but if you are someone who only uses one monitor or likes to use the same monitor for a multi monitor set up, then there are a lot of things to consider that many people don’t consider, hence why I took this review at a very different angle to every other review I think, just to play devils advocate if that makes sense haha and thank you!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@Techkhamun Oh believe me i understand you! On one hand, i think they also felt like it's "cleaner." You know? Even though it's on the back. 2 other things though:
1/ Is the Apple Studio Display "thick" enough to even have an HDMI port?
2/ Doesn't the thunderbolt connection provide higher "Hz" to the panel? Like 60 or 120 instead of 24 / 30 for example?
Just 2 things why it might be only thunderbolt as well. (Not sure though!)

Oh yeh for sure its cleaner! It's definitely an apple thing, but Apple have been kind of going back to being practical, like look at all the new macs they have released, they are learning that being too "clean" is annoying to customers haha I was hoping for better, but this was kind of what I would expect Apple to do, to just think other brands and tech do not exist outside of Apple lol
And yeh an HDMI port could be too large for the display and no HDMI 2.0 does 4K 60 no problem and we are on HDMI 2.1 that does 4K at 120Hz. But thunderbolt does offer one cable solution for the display and built in hub and all the features like webcam and mics so it does make sense to use thunderbolt for this display but just would have been nice to use another port with an adapter for example to allow for dual connection like a USB-C to HDMI adapter but aye that might have been too much, its not like they put the one of most powerful chips in a monitor I've seen haha

Yeh exactly! I love apple products and I use basically all of them in my day to day but that doesn’t mean I think they are perfect or that I wish certain things were different! I get that on CZcams their are a lot of apple channels with Apple fanboys who defend every choice apple makes without criticism but I’m definitely not one of them 🤣 I say the good and bad and give my opinion on how I’ve used it and hopefully someone gains something out of it 😊 thank you so much Jeffrey for the kind words 🙏🏽🙏🏽

You do realize that macOS does not support Daisy Chaining it’s not the Desplaines fault it’s macOS. There’s not a display on the market that you could daisychain a Mac with

For the money Apple want, this display has more disappointments than it should.
It took years for Apple to come up with this. ITS A GOOD MONITOR - BUT A SHIT PRODUCT!

Thank you! And yeh I agree, I think for some people this will be perfect for them, even if it’s not worth the price but for my uses and issues I outlined in the video, it’s just not good and the 5K resolution just doesn’t make up for that, not for me anyway!
@@Techkhamun Exactly. Too small for for content creation other than photography which seems like the only creative use for it. 5k on a 27" just makes everything too small for me and if I scale it then there's like 3 things on the screen.
