Love the comparison! Huge fan of the Bose tamper as well!
Great work mate
I’ve been watching you since the beginning. I enjoy your videos. I learned how to froth milk from you and appreciate your dedication to the coffee community.
Awee thank you so much 😊 I truly appreciate you and I couldn’t be more thankful 🥲
Love this video.I use a Pullman Tamper 58.5 mm,for my Breville Dual Boiler. Managed to get a few good shot's,but I have some way's to go to get 18 gr in and 36-40 gr out.Have to keep practising .You'r channel is very helpful indeed .Thank you Dylan. HR.Toronto.Canada.
Awee thank you so much 😊
I’m a self confessed tamper collector. I have the newer V4 Normcore spring loaded tampers (2 of them) and I’m not a fan at all. I find them VERY static compared to the other 5 brands I have. I’m not prepared to pay $200AUD for the titanium version. For a few bucks more I’ll hang out for the Pullman or Force next. 😉
Mesmerizing. And I thought that I'm a little obsessed buying Mara X and couple of tampers...
The IKAPE Transparent being the new daddy of tampers to have
Excellent video.I have a Mussa Tamper it weighs in at 358.2 gr
Also I have a Pullman Big Step Tamper and it weighs 278.5. It is expensive @ $ 275 Ca The Mussa was$110.:00 Ca,(floor model) Saved $27:00 Ca.
I know which one is the best!!! 😊👌
Just received my normcore b4 with the titanium coating. Only tried once, but it works as advertised. The shot tasted great and seemed to have better extraction. However, I don’t measure extraction with any devices, so I’ll chalk the taste improvements up to placebo for now
The Normcore comes with a 15lb, 22lb and 30lb spring. You said it isn't adjustable.
The ikape is going for $47 as of the beginning of March. It’s what I paid for it. Works great on my barista pro.
The fiterpaper isn't gonna take out any of your oils and muddieness if you put it on top
It will keep the group clean though
Also a more even flow of the water will result
On your normcore tamper - what spring did you have in it?
@13:40 for the paper filter to work at least to get the oils out, it should probably be on the bottom, right? Between the portafilter and the grounds? Or am I missing out on something?
All weird to me. I currently use a Breville Bambino Plus. Nothing wrong with what comes with that machine as if you are not blind you grind say 21/23g for correct infusion time and tamp an even level and then get on with it. Most advice seems to indicate exerted pressure is not that important, but I make sure I de clump before tamping to lessen channeling. Currently in process of buying an upgrade to their dual boiler machine and enjoyed watching your recent review. Might add anyone thinking of getting one should also watch Coffee Kev and Hoffman on same to get a balanced assessment. Keep up the good work plus like me sub to your posts.
hi @frankweaver301. I got the same espressor but under Sage brand. Can you tell me if you use normal (not pre-infusion), can you extract correctly? What i mean to say, if i use 18g in double basket, and i press double coffee Sage's button, my espresso time will stop after 13-15 seconds and get under 10g of espresso. If i use pre-infusion , everything is almost correct (32 g in 30s).
@@VasilievFlorin Now got a Sage Twin Boiler Machine. Best buy I've made in a long time since I love coffee. But limit it to twice a day using glass double wall mugs. Made sure I boned up on its use and mostly adhere to 'Coffee Kev's' reviews and advice in setting it up for my tastes. However it proved quite a time taking process though. However it was worth it in the end and have had friends visiting and tasting the result then saying 'This is as good as what I get from Starbucks or Costa's'. The machine comes with its own magnetic tamper held magnetically in hole near grinder outlet. Still stick to 21/23g of dark roast. Tamp moderately after having used a wire to
* GReat Video - buying the Breville Gambino Plus - so if I get the Normcore pr IKape or Happpy - I dont need a say normcore coffee gravity distributor?? thank you! I wanted a wood tamper wish normcore made one - I m getting a wood n silver bottomless purofilter & wanted to match so Im confused IS the normcore better than the I KAPE (the IKAPE i saw is 53.3 but it was wood -THANKS!
