Amaranthine books makes some pretty amazing books. Some of them are a bit extra but the quality is pretty awesome.

I think the company is going to try adding a more economically priced edition to the lineup with their next book. That could be great for folks that want quality, but aren’t going to pay $500 for a book.

I specialise in rare editions of Frankenstein but after seeing this video I definitely wouldn’t include this in the collection. There’s also the irony that they call it the Doctor edition in relation to a novel where not once is Frankenstein referred to as a Doctor. There are many alternative editions out there which I would recommend way ahead of this one.
Which editions would you recommend most?
Which ones would you pick? I have a the Easton Press stitch cover edition. And the Folio Society limited edition is tame in comparison. What do you include in your collection?

I want the Folio Society edition, too. I have the Amaranthine Doctor Edition, the latest Easton Press standard edition, and the “Pretty Books” Edition.
The Amaranthine is by far the best that I have, but it’s also far more expensive. I think for the money, the Easton Press edition looks nice, looks “classic”, and doesn’t cost that much.
@@itsterrific I paid a little extra for the stitch variant of the Easton Press edition due to the Black Moire Silk Endpapers. Otherwise it’s the same as the new one, I tried looking for the other rare editions of Frankenstein like the other comment mentioned. I can’t really find anything except nice leather rebinds or ones with meh black and white art. Folio and Amaranthine seem like the best options.

I’d love to get the Easton Press Limited Edition. I may end up buying it after-all.
A really nice addition to your library. I don’t think Amaranthine is my bag, in general, but this release was the closest of any they’ve done thus far to peaking my interest. Enjoyed getting to see more of it via your video.
I intend to get their next two releases, which will be Sherlock Holmes (I don’t know which title) and Catch-22.
I look forward to experiencing them vicariously through your videos :)
I have their Dracula edition. I like the design concepts and details in their books. I thought about Frankenstein, but I passed as I’m not a fan of that book like I am Dracula. Great unboxing as usual Tim.
The Dracula editions are without a doubt the definitive versions of the novel

That’s what I’ve heard. I’m interested to see what Suntup does with Dracula. Paul sounded like it was an eventuality.
@@itsterrific I’m excited for what Paul might do, the 50 copy Amaranthine edition had actual Transylvanian dirt that made the book’s box an actual coffin!

It is one of the nicest, and by far the most unique book that I own. I’ve never seen anything like it.
@@itsterrific Amaranthine never fails to deliver on uniqueness. Catch-22 looks amazing, I hope I can buy an essential edition Wednesday. I can’t see how many are left on the site. I would have bought Sherlock, but I’m only interested in Hound if the Baskervilles for that character.
I’m sure there will be copies available for general release. I’m trying to decide on the numbered edition. It’s $660 US, which is a little more than I want to spend, but I want rights to be able to get 2001 A Space Odyssey. ⚖️
