      Caligirl yeah while it may be hard to believe they are real.the reason some of the photos seem fake are that the photos are taken from the front. The head size is unproporitonately large compared to the body size of the shoebill, so it looks like it’s glued on or photoshopped, however they are real photos

      they do, but like most whales, they can probably hold their breath for a very very long time. That means they dont have to surface often, and since they live in the antarctic, there wont be that many ships around usually to see them. This would keep sightings pretty rare, especially if its not a large population of the whales.

      The video also said they tend to be misidentified from other whales as well since they look so similar so there is a possibility people have seen them more frequently than people think. Also based on their location, not many people are even in Antarctica so that also lowers reported sightings.

    fun fact: in midwest America, it is common to see a mountain lion at least once every 20 years, this means if you see a 2nd mountain lion within 20 years in the same 100-mile radius is most likely the same lion. this is because their territory is the largest of any cat

    Florida cougars: you normally find them at dive bars in south beach.....gotta watch out for them around 2 am, that's when they capture their prey!!!!

    I’ve seen Florida panthers at least 20-45 times, for some reason I see them in the wild a lot but it’s mainly the same panther all the time.

    Maybe I was lucky, our zoo had a shoebill back when I was a kid, so I saw one in person first time over 20 years ago. I know most people think they are not real.
