TUGS - Warrior's Longest Day (15 Minute and 20 Minute Differences)

Every episode of the series "TUGS" was filmed to 20 minutes, but when released the episodes were only 15 minutes in length. Until October 2022, only 4 of these "extended" cuts were seen in full. That's when the 20 Minute Cut of the episode Warrior was released to the public. This video is designed to compare differences between the two versions.

Note some scenes are exclusive to the 20 minute version and others to the familiar 15 minute version, which indicates that they had the original 30 minute runtime in mind when they filmed the episode. When shortened to 20 minutes the crucial character scenes were clearly employed to full effect, but these were switched or shortened considerably just to smooth edits in the final version. Fun Fact
The 20 minute cut work print video is actually around 22 minutes including both credit (I’m pretty sure a lot of people have noticed that)

Thanks to the book adaption containing some of those deleted scenes, I can fill the dialogue gaps in the deleted scenes.

With some parts of the 20 minute cut not filmed during production, I’d say the 15 minute official release worked out better than the leaked workprint.

It's really sad that tugs never became successful. As well as the choice of the 15 minute cut

We could insert some of the footage used the 15 minute cut like in the beginning to insert the missing scenes

It's so refreshing to see the 20-minute workprint, but it's such a shame that you can't hear the audio. The 15-minute version always felt like it was a bit clunky and had certain scenes and dialogue missing.
I clicked on the Drive link but couldn't find the original recording. If someone could signpost it to me I would really appreciate it.

Yeah because everything is HD quality now (even with older shows like tugs) and you can’t hear the audio in the original work print video

To get the highest quality of the episodes you would need to scan the original Film that was used to record them that is probably long gone

If we can get a DVD of Tugs made at some point, I think we’ll have all the extended versions of the episodes in high quality.
